Looking to buy a Comp Cams Degree wheel Kit, but there seems to be two kinds one of them being COMP Cams 4934 - COMP Cams Cam Degree Kit
and the other COMP Cams 4796 - COMP Cams Cam Degree Kit, they would probably do the same thing just the same. But I was wondering if you guys had any experience using one of these and if not what would you recommed?

If you are looking for a degree wheel, look for the largest one you can find. Reson being is that a larger degree wheel is more accurate than a smaller one.
I think that Erson has them, might check them out.

thanks guys looking for small wheel motor is in the car. would you say its fairly easy degreeing a cam on these motors?

I know not everybody degrees a cam but is it recommended? I assume it's just to verify that the cam grind is accurate according to the cam card? Couldn't you just use a dial indicator and see where piston 1 registers when at TDC?

It's a little more involved than your description.

Oxblood, Comp Cams has a new degree wheel kit #4942 designed specifically for the LS engines. It's more than just a degree wheel, it includes a dial indicator, LS specific threaded stands and a piston stop. Summit has them in stock.

I thought they made one specific for LSmotors the link that Old Geezer left reassured me. so I called summit and they gave me a price. I'm debating on getting the piston stop that goes through the spark plug port. The only reason I'm ify about it is because I think I'm going to need to replace the head gaskets if I do. Trying to save as some cash if I can. Out of the two piston stops offered which would be more accurate?
