Question Longevity TIG welder anyone have one ?

Just pulled the plug and ordered a 200 DX. Will see how it works and comment. Not a fan of Chinese electronics but it comes with a 5 yr warranty on parts and labor. Closest service center is 140 miles away so if it turns into. A turd, I can sit on their porch till they provide what they promise.

I love my Dynasty. I've had it (200dx) now for about 5 yrs and its never had a problem. I don't weld much though. Maybe 5 150 bottles of argon so far is all.

^^

Whats wrong with it if it works as good as a miller?

Understandably its a more inexpensive welder... But how many people really need to dumb $4000 into the welder alone?

I get asked this question so many time it makes my blood boil.

It does not work even half as good as a miller welder and most of the people who wasted there money on them had part fail in them couldnt get new parts. had to pay shipping for a whole new cheap *** welder to get burned on a piece of crap.

I dont sell welders but there good millers for as cheap as 1500. You dont have to buy a miller there are other good brands just not this cheap ****

the cheap *** plasma cutters suck even more *** the the cheap tig welder for a heads up

It arrived today. Will hook it up tomorrow and advise.
Never say never.

Nay-Sayers act like they never shopped at walmart where 99.9% of everything not food is made overseas. Lighten up.

Cool

To be honest, I love it. I am starting to get the hang of tig welding after using up my first bottle of argon. Overall the longevity 200dx is great. Tig is great and for pretty looking welds with little to no splatter, it is king. I have a Lincoln mig wire feed welder too and it has it's place like welding alluminized exhaust, trailers etc. Id post some pics of my bird droppings after I get better. I started out welding 1/8 inch plain steel without any filler to get the hang of it. I highly recommend this tig welder. The adjustability of pre and post flow, ramp up and down amps is cool. I prefer ***** to turn and not a touch panel that can go bad. I work on electronics for the us military and have experience with lots of electronics. I opened it up to verify all the internal wire connections are good. Only complaint is the mfg opened up the welder to. Verify connections and tested it so the case screws were a bit loose. I like the brass quick disconnect argon front and rear hose connections. Torch is good quality. Ground and tig wires are thick and durable. Front panel Setup is simple.

Cool

Have not cranked up the amps higher than 85 yet as I don't have a need to do so. Flow meter and regulator are good quality too. Just have a tiny bottle 18 inch tall but plan to get a Q size bottle 36 inches tall abouts. Rear cooling fan is about 10 inches diameter.

Thanks for the feedback. I am looking into one of these too. I am considering the LONGEVITY or the EVERLAST and will probably buy the one with the Plasma cutter too. I agree with your comment on the ***** instead orf the touch panel.

This is one of the the videos that lead me to buy this one.

The kid can lay some good looking welds with this TIG.

I looked at getting one with an integrated plasma cutter. I decided to wait and get a standalone plasma cause if the plasma torch shorts out then the whole welder is toast.

Wink

Via telephone and then they sent me a paypal invoice for me to pay. Shipped and delivered from California to Kc area in less than 5 days via FedEx. Their forum has 20% off coupon occasionally, and I just asked for it.

BTW the kid has other vids showing his TIG abilities.

The Chinese stuff seems to be getting a little better in quality. Just make sure the unit has the IGBT electronics, not the older MOSFET stuff. I would stay away from the combo plasma/tig units. They all seem to have quite a bit of trouble, I think it has something to do with the high frequency circuit. Sure, the Miller Dynasty 200DX is the Cadillac of the portable/smaller tig units, but it's hard to justify the price for a unit that's going to be used in the home garage.
