Default Where to buy "HUGE" allen wrenches?

My wife's rear has a huge nut for re-filling the gear oil in the differential (her "rear" is a 86 560 SL Benz transaxle!!) . I've never seen a bigger plug - the allen wrench fitting is about 1.5 inches in diameter!!!!!

I'm sure they design these F#@%$n cars specifically to prohibit normal bloaks like me from working on them.... The plug is somewhat recessed so I can't get a set of locking plyiers on it either..

Anyway, although I have several allen wrench sets, I don' have anything that big. I've looked at all the tool catelogs including Sears, Husky, Harbor Freight, JC Witney, NorthernTool. I've also checked my local parts stores too.

So where do I get these big sucker wrenches?\

Thx...

Snap-On, Mac, and Metco. You'll LOVE the prices, though.

If you can find a piece of hexagonal bar stock the right size you could make one for cheap. www.mcmaster.com has hexagonal bar stock.

www.mcmaster.com ---> Raw materials and springs ---> metals ---> steel ---> hexagonal bars. Then just see if they have the right size. A 12" long 1.5" hex bar cost less than $3 for the 4140 bar.

You might go to a hardware store and find a hex head bolt that will fit. If you have a cheap welder, you can weld a nut on to the bolt to turn it with (or you can double-nut the bolt to turn it). I've done stuff like that before (for example, on a Moser rear end).

Use the bolt head idea, but double nut 2 nuts on the bolt, easier and quicker than welding.

Damn you guys are smart. Good suggestions. There is some kind of we-have-everything-super-cheap shop near me, it's like a ghetto Building 19. They probably have the right size. They have wrenches all the way up to about 3" or so. They are about the size of my leg.
