Default What's the smallest, thin ratchet you have found?

I'm in school to be an aviation A&P and need a good ratchet that can fit in tight places. I was talking to our Snap-On guy today and he showed me a 1/4" ratchet. It was this one:

T860

Anyone tried it? Anyone found one that's made for even tighter access? It was very small and seemed to be almost perfect. If I bought that one, would I be better off to go ahead and buy THIS kit? Thanks.

Here is a MAC Tool product for you to look at.....

MR7PAZ ($59.99): which is a completely GEARLESS ratchet with 0 degree ratchet swing. Our MRR7($49.00) is comparable to the S.O. T860 with one major difference: Our MRR7 is 7" in length.

We also carry a MR5HL ($36.00) which is an aircraft ratchet with Hy-Lok. Please let me know if I may be of assistance.

I have a snap on round head thats similar to the one shown above except its flexible kinda like the FH747 which is the 3/8 drive version which I just bought I love them both use them everywhere on everything I can't get an air tool on. I also have a Mac gearless but I don't use it near as much as the snap on. Both are quality and I recommend both they do a really good job in tight spots.

Thumbs up

Thanks for the comments guys. I have a 3/8" version of the Craftsman thin pro ratchet. I like it, but fell in love with the Snap-on ratchet I linked to. I had ordered online a mac 1/4" gearless ratchet on Dec 20th, and called 2 days ago. Turned out they had cancelled my order 3 weeks ago and not notified me. I might end up buying the MAC with the Hy-Lok. I have been eyeing those in the past.

I ended up ordering the 104RAT kit. I'll let you guys know how it works out.

Thanks again.

Who knows? The woman I talked to didn't seem to know a whole lot of what was happening. She figured the address didn't match up. It's a debit card actually and has plenty on it to order a big box from them, so I know I had enough for a ratchet on it. I took it as a sign that I should go with the other ratchet instead.

The Snap-on you're talking about is a TH737. I used to machine the yokes for those and the FH747's.

I know one thing those yokes are tough I've hanged with all my weight on my 1/4 drive before and it didn't break. I like it so much I went ahead and bought the fh747. those are great ratchets to have when changing plugs and such.

Default thin ratchet

I know that the Gearratchet vortex set is very nice. The special sockets kind of clip into the ratchet to give you a thinner profile. Also, you can use the adapters that come with it to use it like a standard 3/8 or 1/4 ratchet. As far as quality and durability, I don't know too much.

Price is also very low:

$30 for a 27 pc. set at Sears
$40 for a 56 pc. at arizonatools.com

Look around for a better deal.
