Looking for a ~24" breaker bar
That won't break the bank. I have the harbor freight special and it's okay... but I don't like the deflection I get under use. There's a nice SK at thetoolwarehouse.net, but it's about $45 on sale. Anyone got any favorites?

sounds like a good way to lose an eye. pvc will shatter when used like that. use a piece of steel or aluminum pipe.

I have a few different sizes of pipe that I use depending on the situation. A few weeks back I had one half of one of those steel jacking columns, about 4' long and maybe 3" diameter for removing, and retorquing my pitman arm nut on my dakota. Funny thing about it, I couldn't get a socket in there with any driver, so I ended up using this monster(and very tight and precise) stanley adjustable wrench that I got at walmart years ago. broke it free with that and a sledge hammer, then to retorque, had me and my brother estimating ~90 lbs of pressure 2 feet out on the pipe to estimate 180 ft/lbs ha
For the smaller big jobs, I have a just big enough around, and a couple foot long pipe that fits nicely over the std breaker bar, and I think adds alot of strength to the breaker bar as long as you slide it all the way on the full length of the handle.
Have a couple other lighter and medium pipes I use sometimes for different wrenches too. If I had to pay for all the high-quality tools all the time, I couldn't afford the cars to work on I do pretty well with my assortment of yard sale and some retail tools I've aquired over the years. I love the loaner tool services at the parts stores too, that's saved me a ton of times, especially pullers of all kinds that would cost a fortune to buy. I don't know if they loaner a long breaker bar like that, but maybe.
