Thumbs up

that's good enough to grab even if you don't need one at the moment.

LOL I actually bought a 1000lb engine stand from ebay for $7.xx shipped! Less than 8 bucks and DEFINATELY worth it.

.

Just for insurance. Throw some crap engine on there for a few days if you can.

Many years ago a buddy bought a cheap stand & it broke overnight screwing up a blown alcohol BBC.

I have the pep boys engine stand, it held up good in rebuilding a few 6cyl engines I have done, but I haven't tried a V8 on it yet, but I would think it would hold up since I was torquing pretty good on the 6cyl I had on it and it was pretty sturdy...

I would of gone on a rampage, i'm talking waiting by the front door of the company before they opened with my broken engine and stand blocking the front door...

He's a cheap skate, and had no business putting that monster on a stand like that.
That's why I only use the big daddy U shaped stands. Can't tip, can't break. I also don't have a giant *** blower.

I've got a Pepboys stand i've been using for 8 yrs and no problems. I had one motor that sat on that stand for over a year fully assembled. Never budged.

I'm with you on that one. I have an assembled big block Mopar on my engine stand right now. That thing weighs close to 500lbs. I spent like 130.00 for my stand and shows no sign of wear.

As far as the Pep Boys stand goes it sounds like a deal and as long as you monitor the stress points you should be good. But I am a firm believer of "you get what you pay for".
