Shopper's Guide to the Sponsors
I've suggested this before but it never "took".
I believe that the sponsors would be well served, if the
'board had something like the alphabetical sponsor list,
but for products. Like on Thunder's site they let you
"shop by manufacturer", alpha list.
What I would propose is something where there is a
manufacturer alphanumeric list and under each heading,
any sponsor can contribute a link to their web site -
front door, or even more specific product page. The
sponsor list it getting so big that it's hard to get through
them all.
It might also be good to have some generic headings
for common items - like "headers", "camshafts", "suspension"
etc. that would give some way to narrow down the search
(like, I wouldn't want to bother shopping for shocks at a
cylinder head vendor).
Seems like it would be fairly simple to make a linear list
and manage the addition / deletion of info on a demand
basis as sponsors choose (or not) to update you. Maybe
a bit tedious to set up initially, but I think a big bonus to
drive sponsor "hits".

I think this is an excellent idea. Definitely a worthwhile project, even after a year and a half I find myself searching around for a while sometimes for products amongst vendors. This wound cut down on that wasted time tremendously. Great idea Jimmy

i actually started to make one of my own about a year ago (maybe longer).
i put it in excel with the vendors name and what they carried and how much the item was. i had it in order by the type of part
this was when i first started out in modding so that i didnt get screwed

The first place I look for an item is the Sponsors sale section. After that I go to sponsors I have known to have good prices on other Items in the past. I tend to use the same ones over and over.

good idea, but who wants to make it? Unless you can get all the sponsers to give u their products in the proper format (i doubt it) it would take a very long time. and price changes and such...would be tough.

I would leave prices out of it, just publish the headings
and any sponsor who wants to be listed under that
heading, can say so (and they could propose other ones
too if they feel something's left out. Keep it very simple,
just alphabetical product type / manufacturer headings
and under each, a list of sponsor links who have said they
carry it.
That should make it merely tedious, not impossible.

I think a good idea would be that when you scroll over a sponsor..a little window shows containing maybe there most popular product or just something they want customers to know they are known for then you wouldnt have to move anything

What about just general headings for what type of sponsor they are?
That way similar catagory sponsors are grouped together.
Example:
F-body Shops (meaning they carry just about verything)
-Speed Inc
-Thunder Racing
-TByrne
Power Adders
-JL Turbo STS
-Pro Turbo Kits
-Vortech
-Magnacharger

You could do something like a pricewatch style just for the sponsors. Just my 2 cents IDK if that is something you guys are even looking for. And have it sortable like you guys have been describing.
