Server too busy??
......maybe it's my ISP.

Brains - I just want to publically say thanks for all your hard work over the years. I honestly am not sure this site would be what it is today without you taking care of the server and software. I can just imagine this unshowered, old stale pizza eating, jolt cola drinking, thick glasses having, old underwear wearing(only thing
), 500lb weighing dude sitting in a pitch black room staring at a bigass monitor taking care of LS1Tech....as **** plays in the backround. You anything like that?

NOW GET TO WORK BIATCH, THE TRUCK SITE IS SUFFERING!!
Yepper, Brian does good work. It's like he's been getting the performance of an LS7 (oracle database) from a V-TEC (mySQL) for years now.

I hope not, if so Zangel has really low standards, maybe I need to gain some weight get a big dark room, and start drinking jolt cola.
I'd just like to say thanks to Brains too, I don't post alot but I read this board probably 10 hours a day while I'm at work talking to dumb people.

It trucks along really well until there's a query that does something that takes a long time (search, typically, since its looking at data that won't be in the query cache, and scans the largest index on the table). Once a big query comes in, if someone puts in a request that locks the table (ie. new post, edit post, delete post) then everything stacks up behind that request and waits. The more connections you allow, the longer it takes before the site becomes responsive again. Make the connection count too low, and you see the dreaded "there has been a slight problem with the database" message. 964 (455 members and 509 guests) yesterday i saw 800 something when it was sluggish

just gotta remember patience is a virtue.
