I went through some reciepts in my car file and have spent over $24,000 from sponsors on this board. 2 engines, multiple complete exhaust systems, fuel suspension, blah blah blah. There are literally thousands of others that have done the same. I can say with some certanty that I will make it a point to walk away from this site if it continues to go downhill. I have spent less time on this board than I did in the past because the system itself has been slower than **** and locked up with regularity. This google/adware crap is the nail in the coffin for me.

They're too busy counting the money from all the hits they got off this thread today.

Won't happen, all they care about is the almighty dollar, and they could care less if you drive a Camaro or a Corolla
It's a shame to see such a valuable information resource as this site sell out to a big corporation, I personally have learned a hell of a lot from the posts here, and have spent at least a couple thousand dollars with the sites sponsors, and will continue to spend my money with them
It's disgusting the way they've been shafted with the google ads, the sponsors PAY for the priveledge of advertising here, while these google ads do not, and if I was a PAYING sponser, I would be absolutely livid with this turn of events
I can only hope that IB will see the error of its ways and remove the google ads, but knowing that big corporations are only concerned with the bottom line, it's doubtful they will
One solution is to simply start another site, if the majority of members here leave, and the sponsors pull their ads from here, and go to the new site, you effectively cut IBs money, and they will probably attemp to sell an underperforming (in regard to revenue generation) site, and perhaps a savior for LS1Tech can be found and it can be restored to its former self (WITHOUT THE GOOGLE ADS)
Congrats to the owners for selling out, while they're laughing all the way to the bank, the members and PAYING sponsors are left crying in their beer

I would hate to see that happen. There is such a wealth of knowledge here it would be a shame to lose it over something like this,

Rome is burning.

If the sponsors start pulling out, you can forget about LS1tech as we used to know it. I personally don't blame them one bit. If I were a sponsor, I'd be infuriated.

LS1tech is first and foremost an automotive enthusiast site. Once the enthusiasm is gone... what will be left? Ringtone ads and discount perscription medications?

In the direction things seem to be going, IB is going to suck this cash cow dry. Sponsors and members will leave in droves, and once it's all said and done, nothing will be left of our once almighty empire of LS1tech except for a parked domain name that you can buy at a discount rate.

The future? This will be the future if sponsors and forum members leave because our community is decimated by non-paying Google ad "sponsors":

I hope it doesn't come to that. I love this site. I'll hold on as long as I can, I won't jump the ship yet. But if the ship goes underwater... I'm getting on the life raft outta here.

I'm especially concerned about the vast amounts of tech data that's been accumilated over the years. Can we archive it onto another website if this one tanks? Or are all postings on here "property" of Internet Brands, too?

That's why I said anyone and everyone should start pulling all the tech info on this site and saving it for future use. At this rate, the site could be gone, as everyone's known it, in a short time. A single rain drop can be the start of a flood.

If so they need to divide it up among those who posted and pay up. I was never made aware of the change in ownership.
