Wow. What a crock. Hard to believe the sponsors were shafted like that. I suggest everyone start copying any and all tech info they want and move on to another site. I just can't see this place as being the same after this.

I haven't been here long. I found this site on accident while researching up on Ls1 F-bodies. I have no sentimental attchment to the way things used to be, but I do know business. If the owners know that 70% of the current sponsors could walk and they'll make more money because of google ads, do it. Just don't forget the exposure you'll lose when members walk and new ones don't join. Personally, I wouldn't take that gamble but I'm not looking at their books.

I would never have given this site a second glance if it was some cheesy google bullshit ad billboard. I had been out of the racing scene for ten years or so and this site was a great educational tool and an awesome place to find companies specialising in LS1's. I liked the list of real vendors (no turbonator.com) down the page. I had never heard of Performabuilt or UMI or BMR etc. before here. Frank at performabuilt has been awesome and I haven't even bought anything from him YET. I will. Driving guys like him away from this site seems suicidal. JMHO

 

Exactly. If I want Google, I go to google.

 

But if I was a sponsor I would be pretty upset and want a discount on my fees or I would Highly consider leaving.

Some of you sponsors are telling us(normal members) to voice our opinions. Well I doubt they will listen to us. You(sponsors) are the ones paying for this site. If enough of you leave or voice your concern maybe they will listen. Money Talks.

For those of you that continue to reply over and over in here with your disagreement, how about letting others reply too? We do not like this Google stuff either, but we personally do not have control over it. All of you that just want to stir up controversy and talk **** about the site that has always been here for you aren't helping things.

How about some constructive comments and feedback, instead of the immature and rude stuff?

Technically, there isn't anything wrong with this site. It isn't like they are going through and pruning out half of the threads like some "other" site did a while back...the information is still here, just in a little more annoying format. Firefox can kill all but that stupid Cars Direct ad...if that was gone, the problem would be solved completely.

 

all it takes is a good pop up blocker and they are gone! We have no issues. not that we are justifying it either way

I saw the Google text ads last night, and as of 4:45pm EST today I don't see them at all. I see the usual banners up top and bottom, also on the side Cars-direct and a dozen sponsor links (that go to doubleclick.net) Anyone see the Google ads right now? I'm using Firefox.

 

So sad to see this for the paying sponsors. Hope you guys come to a resolution with IB on this. Hate to see what they are going to change next on us.

And whoever mentioned that mycrap.com site, tell them their site is hard to read.
