Google Ads?
I don't like it. I like tech and I like to come here among other gear heads and talk about cars. I also like helping newbs. I do feel bad for the sponsor's that pay money to advertise and now can't see there ads.

New setup sucks. I have to hit the back 9 times just to return to my previous page (that is if it allows me 2) it clicks 4 times every page I load. I hope it generates you guys a lot of money.
I'm guessing the sites hits will go way down though....at least from me they will
Seems I need to check out this myLS1.com site...

this thread will soon be the longest one on this site...this has really affected the site in a huge way....i cant back up cant go foroward it takes up 1/5 of the screen...i have a feeling if this sticks around that or there will be a new site soon
This sucks!!! I can understand why the site was sold, but as with big business, the dollar rules. If they don't fix the problems soon, the traffic on this site will drop dramatically. It is a shame, I went here for good advice and learned a ton. I hope other sites can fill the void that the pending demise of this site will leave.

Whats really messed up is when you click on a sponsors link theres a doubleclick ad on it which means this site gets an ad click and money when you click on a sponsors link. So basically this site is making money off the sponsors in two ways. I'm pretty sure the second way is not legal.
Look at the pic, my mouse pointer was on the link (which never completely showed up), it was Patriot Performance. Mouse over any sponsor link, it has that on them all. I bet the sponsors don't know this yet.

Can someone tell me how they are going to make $100,000 dollers. What can i do to avoid this? I guess i also will have to check out myls1.com
The sponsers here are the **** (I mean that in a good way) They have answers to almost any question that we ask here! And now they are being ripped!!!!

Ok here is a new one. When I click on the link in the automated response email it brings me to somewhere in the thread, not to the new post it notified me about. And it sounds like a machine gun going off with all the pop ups being blocked.
I checked out that other site myls1.com and it looks good. There are several defectors over there.

Believe us, The sponsors are raising the issue in the Private Sponsors section about the. But we need the memebers to make your voice heard and make it strong!

Although I am not a long term member or a top poster, I figured I'd add my 2 cents.
I think the website as it is was perfectly fine and easy to navigate (except for the search function). Personally, I see nothing wrong with trying to increase revenues through any means AS LONG AS it does not detract from the forum. In this case, I think that it has hurt the forum in a number of ways:
1. Navigation problems. Like many others, I have the same back button/fwd button problems that the ads have caused. I understand that there is a fix for this, but I'd really rather not have to bother with it. For dedicated users the fix may seem obvious, but for casual users who don't know about it, this nuisance may discourage them from returning.
2. It hurts sponsors who provide so much to the forum. Whether it is helping local members with problems, or posting messages on the board to help someone in distress, the sponsors more than hold their weight around here. More importantly, they provide a level of credibility to this forum. Maybe I am alone here, but when I read advice from a sponsor, I consider it advice from someone with FIRST HAND experience with a problem. It proves that they actually know what they are talking about. Don't push them away.
I hope this matter is resolved promptly, because I prefer not to have to scour multiple forums for information.

From: Webb City, MO...out in the garage
x2
EVERYTHING from my car came from ls1tech. Even the previous owner bought stuff off of here. If i DIDN'T buy from a sponsor, it came from the classifieds on here. i've used Speed Inc., EPP, Tick Perf., Thunder Racing, TSP, Byunspeed, and about a dozen others. this site is what turned me on to the LSx engines. if it wasn't for 'tech, i NEVER would have bought the car (it came from the classifieds too, thanks JZHeyde), and i definately NEVER would have even heard of the shops/individuals that are sponsors on here.
if this googlization doesn't stop or at least a compromise gets found, i WILL be leaving. i proudly support our sponsors and our mods, BUT i don't care for what the site's owners are doing and i WILL go elsewhere. i've already been checking out other forums, and i hate to leave, but this stuff is rediculous. there's no need for it.
$100K to google or IB is pocket change, why ruin a site that's invaluable to us for one more Ferrari in an exec's garage?

It seems Myls1 has a LOT of new members.
