Well I dont know about any ad blockers, but I have no sponser list anymore either. When I click the back button it doesnt go. It took longer to load this page than it did to read all the posts.

With as many f-body/LS1 sites as there are out there, I dont see this one generating the same readership as it did before. If I cant click and get the page quickly, or go back quickly I usually just move on to another site. If this keeps up, eventually I will just stop coming alltogether.

Its a shame, because I have found more worthy parts venders here than ever before, but now nothing. I guess I will try that www.myls1.com and see how that goes.

Tony and the other admins are not the ones at fault here. It wasn't their call to put up the google ads. I feel bad for the sponsors involved.

That's all I'm saying on the matter.

I read through the first half of this thread early this morning, went to bed and woke up seeing that it is now almost 13 pages long. That is a VERY good thing to see, especially given the nature of it. I fully expect to see this thread at the very least, locked with no given reason. Or if there is a reason given its just more of the same bullshit that we have already heard about how it makes so much money and how it should have been done a long time ago and this and that. More than likely though, I think the thread will just be deleted.

I personally think that instead of people saying things like "Down with google ads!!!" they should be saying "Down with Internet Brands!!!" because that's where the real problem lies. The site has been degraded ever since they took over. Rules were VERY strictly enforced, some were banned for no apparent reason, the search NEVER worked right (you could say it works now all you want to but its still ******* terrible). I blame this solely on Internet Brands. Two other sites that I visit, camaroz28.com, and thirdgen.org are nearly the same size as LS1tech in regards to number of posts, number of topics and number of members, yet they don't have a problem with the search...

Down with IB I say. Hold who is responsible for the problems, accountable for those problems.

Anyone with me on this?

I'm pretty much speechless at the recent happenings with these Google adds. Instead of just sticking stupid Google crap on here, why not go out and find more sponsors to add to the AMAZING ones that already belong to this site. Or maybe, for the smaller shops that can't afford the full sponsorship, have a cheaper part-sponsorship that is more restricted regarding how they can advertise and such, which yes, at the moment has been severely crippled. That way shops can get off the ground in more areas to better serve this community.

I have gotten great deals on everything I have purchased for my car to this date and ALL parts have been ordered from vendors on here. Every vendor including Performabuilt, Maryland Speed, LEDgauges, ThunderRacing, Strano, WS6 Store, MTI, UMI, BMR, ByunSpeed, Bob and the others at EPP and any others that I have dealt with and may have left off have been nothing but stand up, EVEN when I was NOT going to be purchasing and was just looking for INFORMATION. Its just sad that they are being treated like this.

No one in their right mind should be clicking on those adds anyways, so they shouldn't be getting any usage. They are completely useless to the users of this site and in no way, shape or form relate to the true car enthusiasts on this site.

All members need to voice your opionions about this. The more that speak up about this the more Internet Brands will take notice. Pass the information to your friends on here for them to post up.

Believe us, The sponsors are raising the issue in the Private Sponsors section about the. But we need the memebers to make your voice heard and make it strong!

What I find funny is that shortly after Tony and John left LS1.com to start this site (yes I was around then..), we were constantly being told how bad that site was and this and that all because the owners got too focused on the money and lost track of what the site was about and how ls1tech would never do that...

Its downright comical to look back at it like that now.

This sucks. Now the owners of the site are making six figures for what WE do. If we all leave-no more money for them.
What ever you do do not click the back button several times, each click is a hit that generates a view or some **** that leads to more profit, hit the drop down menu and go back to the page you wanted to go to instead.

OK, so I wanted to see what the hubub was about, and I fired up Internet Explorer and am now looking at the site with it.

My honest opinion? I like that there's not a mile long seemingly disorganized sponsor list (some times I had trouble finding the sponsor I wanted), but just a select sponsor list. The overall "alphabetic list" really needs some work and organization though.

But, as is likely being voiced, I'd be pissed if I were a sponsor. bowtieoverdrives.com gets to advertise on the site for PENNIES because of Google Ads.

So the new arrangement on the right for sponsor ads seems eeh OK, the alphabetic list needs work, and there needs to be some sort of working with the sponsors if the Google ads stay.

I think if ad space for paying sponsors is cut though (like it is right now), the sponsor cost should go DOWN. They pay for visibility, and right now, 100+ of them are not visible on my screen.

Yeah, and are you gonna go after the sites that advertise thru google and rip people off? Will you cancle the Ads? Of course not because YOU CAN'T.

And it's great that the site looks good for you..... but this is what I see still:

In my county, the best garbage collection service sold out to a national chain. The chain made him sign a contract stating he would not start another garbage collection service. Well, the chain sucked and the people got mad. They wanted the small-town guy to start his service again. Well, he couldn't, because of the contract.

So, he had his wife start the business.

Now, everyone is happy and the chain is history.

Now you are just making **** up. We did not leave LS1.crap because the trailer-trash owner was worried about money. In fact, it was the opposite, he wasn't spending the money he made to maintain the site. The server crashed weekly, the software was several released outdated, and we lost ALL of the past tech threads a couple times due to not having backups made. Then the final straw was the owner telling all of us diehard supporters to 'f-ck off' when we were trying to help him. It had nothing to do with the statements you made above. We started LS1TECH in order to provide a more stable atmosphere for LS1 enthusiasts. We have never had a server crash or lost ANY posts in the 7 years we have run it.
