way to high of a price. nothing rare about the car. period. go to www.kbb.com and book your car. its not my place to post what the suggested private party value is, but it's not even close to your asking price.
also, is that an aftermarket hood? if aftermarket, what happened to the OEM hood? that hood doesn't have the grooves a true ws6 has by the nostrals, or were they filled in? if so, why?.
regardless, good luck w/the sale!

last month i sold my 1998 TA Ws6, 6spd car, 67,500 mi, that ill breaksdown like this for you:
1998 Firebird, Trans Am, Ws6, 6spd, Navy Blue Metallic, was 1 of 11 made in '98 based off the info that is on this site. It had 67,500 on the car. I got $8500 for it, and it was on the high side of good condition. car was bone stock except for a Borla Adjustable cat-back.
oh, and mine was a 29th anniversary year....
by your reasoning, i should have asked $18,000 and not have taken a penny less, since mine was far "RARER" than your '99.
do you understand what myself and others are telling you!? you want $5000 MORE than what that car would book at excellent value. you want a 33%+ market up for no real reason based off excellent condtion car. an almost 100,000 mile car is not excellent condition, period!!! now if it had 100 miles, it would be a different story.
also, just because your car is a 30thy yr production car, doesn't mean squat! now, if it was optioned with the 30th Ann package, then there might be some added value to the car.
it's no wonder f-body prices are so inflated. we realize this is your asking price and not a sale price, but to get even a serious byer, you got to open your eyes. i am not the only one in this thread trying to help you out!
btw, never did answser whether the hood is a true Ws6 hood or not, since it doesn't have the grooves as i stated previously.
again, regardless. GOOD LUCK WITH THE SALE!!!

Damn its his car...why do any of you care what he ASKS for it if your not actually interested in buying it? He's not making anybody buy it, just offering it up for sale. If its more than you want to pay just move on....OR MAKE HIM AN OFFER ON IT. Don't say you should be selling it for $XXXX...say I will give you $XXXX for it. But if your not even interested in buying it just move on.
I can tell you the market for these cars is a lot better than you would think looking on here...this place is a good place though.

The hood is original, it actually had the 2 white racing stripes on the hood, the groves were filled in when the car was painted along with the removal of the trans am lettering on each side. Then it was repainted black. Sounds like someone stole that car from you for 8500?
