Default 98 SS Racecar, 408", N/A 500+ RWHP, N2O car

I figured that I’d put this up on here for sale even though I really don’t want to sell her and especially since the economy is the way that it is right now. If someone really bought her I would be really sad since she is just a spray away from the 8’s and that has been my goal for a long time. It would be nice to get into a house though so, tradeoff’s lol. I would consider a partial trade for a turbo car that would be a nice street car. Anyway, here is my girl:

Car was dynoed by Speed Inc. and put down 518rwhp at 7000rpm. I ported the intake recently since the ports of the intake were waaay smaller than the heads and I would like to get a touch up tune on the car. The car has 1 timed shake down N/A run where it ran 10.601 @ 126.8 with a 1.45 60ft but the car was beginning to get hot from a fan issue that was resolved and an oil leakage issue that has been resolved. This run was also without a tach so I short shifted it (accidently hit the tach recall flip switch lol). I would venture to guess this car should go 10.4’s easy on motor, more than likely quicker. The engine was built to handle a 400 shot of spray. I believe on a 300 shot she will probably see high 8’s as that is what she was designed to do but hope to see that on a 250 shot here in the spring. I believe that if an exhaust setup was installed, that you could drive her on the road. This engine has not seen n2o yet, but it’s coming soon

I do not have the 25.5 cert on her yet as I need to take out my sfc’s and replace them with chromoly tubing. The NHRA tech guy said that is all that I need to do and then I’ll have my 7.50 cert on her so she is currently certed to 8.50. I plan on doing that shortly since it is an easy addition to make to her and want done before I sell her.

I have a lot of money invested in this car, especially with having the 25.5. cage put in while retaining the stock floorboards (sooo much harder than just dropping the shell on the chassis and just sheetmetaling the floor).

I'll put the price at $25,500. Let me know what you guys think.

Here are a bunch of pics and a few vids. Some of the vids are from when we had our track timing system stolen (crazy, I know) so I don’t know the times from them.

I'm really not quite sure yet, I might but it would have to be a good deal for me to go that route

Am I way off on price? Or is it just the wrong time of year to sell (which I know it is).

I'll take any feedback, just curious

Bad time of year and you know the same old story about the economy. Great looking cage. I think if your going to sale the car you going to need a lower price and even then it going to be hard to move. To bad you could not cut it out and put it on my car!

Thanks guys for the feedback, I know it's definitely not the time to sell, people are also to depressed about racing with this cold and snowy weather

I'm not going to lower the price now b/c I really do want to race it and see my 8 sec slip plus I pretty much just got my car the way i've always wanted one to be

P.S. We're not cutting on my baby

Haha, I think so. I've been thinking about this before getting engaged tho, it can wait a little longer but I would really like to get out and get myself a house and this would be helpful to sell to have some more $$$. Please call me and make me feel bad about sorta putting her up for sale

It has been a bad 3-6 months to sell a fast car. Just be ready to advertise it for a while.

Yea, i'll probably keep it in the public eye for another week here and then maybe let it disappear and have it make another appearance around tax time and then around racing season here

Yep, this is Rob's old car, decided to put real glass back in and made a few changes but it's still mostly the same. Thanks for the comment, i'd love to keep it but i'm looking to sell it for the same reason that he did to begin with, to get a house

I'd definitely deal on the price if someone were truely interested. If someone walked up with somewhere along the lines of $21K, I would seriously have to think about it

Default a heads up

just so you kinda kow how the market is...

2 yrs ago i bought basically the same set up 402 all callies 385 flowing heads...12 bolt bla bla....for 16k...back then i thought it was a GREAT deal.when the market was in good shape.

now however you cant even give a car away...everyone wants trades.
i would think for that to even spark an interest it would have to be around 16k..maybe 17.and also put nice carpet, along with something around the shifter.make it look street pretty....thats just my thought...i could be wrong, but what im seeing....for it to be sold QUIK with no q"s asked...it would have to go CHEEEEP.street trim supercharged and turbo cars laying down 6 700hp very pretty are going for around that.but again, beautys in the eye of the beholder....check out my street car,and see if you want a little cash plus mine
