Default Gauging interest. '00 WS6 6speed 23K miles.

New to this forum. Looking for an enthusiast site because I'm looking to sell.

Here's my pitch...

Still smells new! Good as it gets, no mods. Only thing not original on this car is the battery but it's still OEM. Looks better than the day I drove it home from the dealership. I'm the original owner and have treated it like a spoiled child. Always garaged and covered with a custom cover (incl). Exterior is glossy black and interior is dark gray leather. If you're looking for an untouched original car, this is the one! 23,000 miles.
6 speed with WS6 package.
Dealer I purchased this from offered me 14K (you know their markup). So you know it's cherry.

Also need to state that what you're seeing is the original rubber. This thing has never been dogged.

Did I pass up a good offer?

Not for an 00 - for an 02 maybe. 14k is an incredibly strong offer from a dealer. Kelley Blue Book is $12,700 for dealer retail and $10,850 for private party. Trade in is $8675 and that's with 23,000 miles and excellent condition factored in. I do think those figures are low, however.

IMHO, I think he'll have a tough time getting much more than 15k on the open market.

Beautiful car, btw.

Thanks. I'm regretting turning down the dealer offer. He was going to write me a check on the spot. I thought he was a little too anxious and assumed I was getting ripped off. Oh well, live and learn.

Is the offer off? Was it a trade-in on a purchase you made?

I sold my 01 SOM M6 T/A when we bought my wife's G8. I regret it now and am looking for another. I want SOM but your car sorely tempts me ...

Nope, from the factory with measly 2 1/2 inchers. That's the only thing I've never liked about the car but I wanted to keep it stock.

ya thought wrong!! Dual SINGLE tips on the stock ws6...except for early model 98s...they came with a SINGLE SINGLE on the driver side.

I think you could get 15k for it. These cars are hard to find with that low miles and the NEW SMELL factor will catch someones attention!! lol
Beautiful car btw!!

Dealer actually sent me a letter saying they were buying these cars back. I've been told he's a WS6 nut. I just drove in off the street. He gave me that offer. I'm now 300 miles away so I'd say the offer is off. Unless I want to drive back to Chicago.

That's unbelievable. Our cars have been selling slowly and prices have been plummeting in general.

Out of curiosity, does your car have 241 or 853 heads?

I guess it depends what state you live in, but in Ny i know i could get 16-17k for it. Aim for atleast 15k, good luck.

It has the 241 heads. I would drive back to that dealer in chicago, take 13k if he offers it.

You are a dumb @#$%. The 241 casting heads are the good heads! Anf they only come on the 01/02 cars. But anyways my girlfriend is about to buy one. this would be perfect for her!

You look at the front of the head above the first exhaust port and there's a little machined pad there with the three digit number on it. They switched from 853 to 241 in mid-2000. Mine (built 6/00) has the 241 heads, my friend's (built 11/99) has 853's.

Will do, I'm under no pressure to sell. Unless you consider your wife nagging you for a parking space in the garage, pressure
