Default '98 TA, Heads/cam, a4

OK, I'm listing this for a good friend of mine that is more at home working on is car than his computer.

He has a 1998 TA with 76,xxx miles. The car is black with black leather, t-tops, loaded to the max. He is very particular and just had the front clip repainted because of rock ships, it has never been wrecked.

New .030 over shortblock about 3,000 miles ago and at that time he also put in a 2001 Z06 cam, port/polished LS1 heads with LS6 valve springs, Headman long tube headers and y-pipe, and 3.42 gears. It has about 200 miles on the rebuilt trans. too.

His goal was to have a fast stock appearing/sounding TA, and he accomplished that very well. He ran a 12.57 through the stock intake lid and cat-back exhaust, right when the trans started acting up and slipping. It was his daily driver for 2 years and drives like a 100% stock TA. If I had the $$ I would've already bought it, but I have my own project.

He's asking $9,900, but I know he needs the $$$ for his dirt track car. E-mail me for pics of the car. The car is in Morton, IL and he can help with meeting half way if need be. You can call him directly at (309)208-3682, his name is Matt.

The reason the motor went out is because of the oil pump problem common on the '97-'98 LS1's. The pump will go out, usually around 70-80k and spin a bearing. He bought a Jasper .030 over long block and went from there with the heads, cam, etc. I'll get pics sent asap. As for price, he wanted me to list it for $10,500, but I talked him into listing it at $9,900 and go from there. If it were my car I wouldn't take a penny less (hell, if it was mine I wouldn't sell it!), but give him a call for more details. I'm just here to send out pics.

I don't want to sound like a jerk, but please serious inquiries only. Before the '98 Matt had an LT4 '95 TA m6 and got very irritated by kids trying to joyride a fast car when it was for sale. If you are interested, feel free to call Matt at 309-208-3682. He doesn't have an email and I don't want to name any prices as to what he would take since it isn't my car. Thanks a lot and if any one needs any pics of something in particular let me know. Kyle.

I didn't mean to offend you. I was trying to cover all my bases with one post. I've had a lot of emails and pm's about this car.
Kyle

All pics sent.... I think.

Yea, the car is at Dale Smith Auto next to the 2nd Cinema and Schooner's. Matt is actually Dale's grandson and works at the shop, so if you stop in during regular hours he should be around. BUT, he won't be there tomorrow (Wed.) b/c he's going to North Carolina to pick up a cup motor for his dirt track car. Give him a call, he'd be happy to show it to you. Thanks, Kyle.

No, he's not in school. I'm not sure how Jasper bored the block. Maybe they resleeved it? All I know is he got the long block already assembled.
