Default question with the whistler mod

i think im going to do the whistler mod tonight, but my biggest question is will this stink up my oven? my mom will stab me with a steak knife if she finds out i baked a car part lol

also anyone have tips on clearing up the fog? i just came back fromthe store, i have 1000, 1500, and 2000grit paper and some meguires plastx.

go buy yourself some of blue magics headlight restore and look to find if u can get the novas plastic scratch remover (most likely u need to order it online) well on my headlight i started off with 300>400>500>600>800>1000>1200>1500>2000 wet sanding. if u done a good job after the 2000 the headlight lenses will be really clear when u pour water on them but if dry they still look dirty. then use the blue magic stuff with a micro fiber cloth and then i used plastic x with a buffer and a whool bonnet and after that i finished it off with the novas 3 stage system and used the buffer for that too goodluck, i can post up pics of how mine came out. also use the semi gloss black paint from dupli color 500 degree paint

mine weren't the worst but i mainly just wanted to grind off those ugly taps so thats why i did it, it came out great!

those came out great. im thinking about paint the back of the light assembly black, what do you think? i hate that cheap faded grey plastic look

^^ actually it looks pretty good that way i seen one. just paint the entire thing just dont make it all cheesy.

will do. im working on getting the scratches out of the lens. do they look a little foggy before the polish?

yea after your down with the sanding its still gonna look bad, but the only way u know if u did a good job is if u pour running water on the lens and see if its as clear as u want it.

ok i have a problem. they look clear under the water but now when they dry they are more foggy then ever. they are smooth, but foggy

that is fine man, thats how its supposed to be since there is microscopic scratches u need to remove with the polishing stuff, so ur on the right track

yea sure but its gonna be a bit harder buffing with the lights on the car, i try to avoid stuff like that getting on my paint
