Default Moving a Motor: Can anyone help me? LOL

I need to move a motor from a shop on Oxnard St in Van Nuys to a friends place in Sylmar. Either tomorrow or thrusday afternoon.

Anyone got an extra motor stand and a hoist I can borrow? I might have a truck for the actual moving.

Hey I really appreciate that!

Basically a friend in my club just bought a 1991 3rd gen Camaro with a freshly rebuilt 5.7L TPI. He’s yanking it out and putting in an LS2 with all the fixings. I’m taking this motor and dropping it in my 1987 Trans am. I’m pulling out the 5.0L TPI that’s got over a 150K. Stock to stock would be a nice bump however I got a few plans before it gets dropped it. It’s close to being a direct drop in since we are going from TPI to TPI.

I’m calling my buddy today at lunch to tell him I’m having trouble pulling this off.

Three buddies and tire. You four can carry it and set it on a tire in the back of the truck. I did that once when I didn't have a cherry picker available.

Right-o. Also, when a buddy and I were in the same predicament, you can just lay it on its side on a blanket in the back of a truck bed (preferably right up against the cab), and drive normal or easily. Obviously this is not preferred, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.

If you a need a truck, I wouldn't mind providing assistance as long as I break even on the gas.

Thanks everyone for the post.

Sucks. I gotta pull this off tonight. I had thought it would have been later this week even the weekend.

I’ll have to check in with my buddy to see what he was able to come up with. If you can guys can PM me your #’s (if you are avail tonight/or after 4pm ish) and I’ll call ya if need be.

I appreciate it. Either way, I’ll post up what turns out. Thanks again!

Bring it back whenever you are done with it, don't rush your install. If you need anything else just let me know, I have a garage full of tools that I am too lazy to use lol. You have my number
