I used a rubber hammer and worked the hub on a little until I could thread the old bolt into the crank with decent contact. Then I used a breaker bar to tighten the old bolt and pull the balancer on. Then I removed the old bolt and installed a new one from the dealer. Should work for you.

*Be very careful not to strip the threads of your crank. I got the old bolt to thread in pretty well before i started tightening it.

done this a few times. Best way I found was put in oven at 275 for about 45 minutes, take out and heat center inside with MAPP torch for 45 seconds/one minute. Move fast and slide that bitch on. Went really easy. *NOTE, make sure you have good heat resistant gloves to hold it with, so ya dont burn yerslf ya know.

only problem with heating it, is if it has to come back off!!

i usally take some emory cloth to the inside of the balancer and then use wd on it! then use a mallet to hit it on as far as possible. the bolt should go on enough to pull it in "by hand" no power tool!!!

That's usually the best route. Grade 8 threaded rod is preferable.
