Running headers on LT1's are a pain in the ***. First off the plug wire routing is retarded. You have to use heat sleeves on them or a different route or they will burn up often. My 96 had Jet-Hot LT's and it was an overall painful experience.

This isnt a tech issue its a simple question. Ever since i put them on ive thrown alot of codes my o2 sensors had to be re routed.... the car is going back in the shop. Im simple curious how many people have had issues, what they were , and if they got fixed

This happened to me almost a year ago...sorry my memory isnt better.

My 98 TA threw some codes after installing Pacesetter LT's. I dont remember the EXACT codes, but one of them had something to do with the Crank. It was like, crank position sensor...something along those lines, and my O2 sensors took a crap not long after..not sure if the LT's caused that per se, but it happened.

If CJ from CMS is still around, he may remember, as he was my mechanic and he fixed her up that day.

Another problem was it wouldnt pass emissions anymore

Edit to add - you mentioned about your O2 sensors being rerouted. I had to do this as well with LT's, but the headers had 'fittings' for relocating them. What brand of LT's did you get?

you could have burned up your O2s, coated headers tend to do that for the first few heat cycles

Pace setters...... car ran good for 3 weeks or so then all of a sudden 4 codes came up check engine light. car still has issues theres a dead miss somewhere

Car starts as soon as it gets a little hot everytime you come to a stop or turn the corner it dies. The car has no performance as well slow as ****. ive taken it to 2 shops i wont give out the names in az but they couldnt find anything i plan to take it to az auto masters they have the tools and experience to find out what it is.

Im starting to belive its the 02 sensors... but can the 02 sensors do that much damage ????

I wasnt gonna turn this into a tech question i was curious if anyone had issues with there car after putting in long tubes.

Thanks to all of you who have answered the question and if theres anyone else who had issues with LTS or still having issues please post. I really appreciate it

when my O2 sensors went out, I was getting a lot of hesitation, and I mean A LOT. It got to the point, when I was on my way to get it fixed, where I could barely give it any gas without it stalling. Then I'd have to let it sit...in the side of the 5...for 10-15 minutes. Then I could drive for 5-10 miles and it would hesitate, and stall again. Talk about a pain.

In any case, that day we replaced the O2 sensors, cleared the codes, and did something with that crank position sensor, and that fixed everything. Hope that helps a bit.

If it went good then started running bad id check the o2 wiring, happened to me and ended up that one of the plugs moved against the header and burnt right through the plastic plug.

a good way to see if your wires are burnt is to open the hood and start the car at night in a dark place. You will be able to see the wires arc'ing on the headers if they are burnt. Sometimes they may not look burnt, but they have become brittle from the heat and will arc out.
