Question: 4th gen to 4th gen swap
My '01 z28 is a salvage title due to theft/accident. Car runs strong, has minor problems of auxiliary **** like passenger window motor on its way out. Paint is maybe a 7/10.
So my question is, if I bought a clean 98-02 roller, how much am I looking at in labor costs to transfer over engine/trans/exhaust from my car to it?
Also, how much do you think my z28 (53k miles) would be worth in parts if you just considered it at as a complete part out, selling the engine and A4 trans individually, and the entire body as a whole?
Have a friend that is willing to buy my car this weekend probably, but don't want to rip him off or screw myself. Trying to decide if selling or transferring would be better.

Labor can vary from shop. If you plan to get rid of the roller you can make more money if you part it out but it will be more hassle. If you sell it as a roller you can get anywhere from 1k to 2k depending if the right person comes along. but since it's salvage expect closer to 1k since the buyer will most likely be converting it to a race car.

Well If you are going to take it to a shop, I and most here will recommend CMS. Hes a sponsor here and has done more LSX work than anyone I know. He's located in Murrieta, And can do anything from swaps to building you a beast.

Damn I guess I should have looked into this sooner lol. Kinda having 2nd thoughts about selling, but already agreed to, had been waiting on reply. Pretty much a done deal, friend is taking it Saturday.
Thanks for the offers. And customers recommendations to back up the work, always good to see.
