Default I have a situation fellas.... Help me out, who ever can help.

So it's about my GF Camaro again.... We are going through so much with this car but this is usual for an old f-body.

Situation: car has passed smog & light inspection. Car is salvaged since it was stolen and stripped, bought it from a seller around put back together and ready to roll with engine and trans off another Camaro. (plus interior)

Now DMV is saying that we need to take the car to the CHP or SHERIFF station to get inspected, and the car can be there up to 30 days for the inspection..... Idk for what! And I guess since it was stolen the VIN was scratched off the door. And I know the VIN of the engine won't match the car. So idk what's going happen here??

Is there anyone that can help me out? Anyone have a hook up with a peace officer that can help? Or atleast explain why it needs to go to inspection?

That's very true... We swap engines at work all the time for other OE engines. Well they won't find any drugs or weapons of any sort

Went through the same thing last year on my wifes SS wich also has a salvage title from colorado. Had to take it to a local CHP for a vin inspection 30 mins tops. Then the normal brake and light inspection. Sounds like you are getting some bad info in reguards to 30 days.
If I recall she took it down to a local CHP near Culver City just off the 405

The worst part was dealing with the DMV.............

We had a Grand Prix that a family member owns inspected a couple of months ago to register it with a salvaged title. It's a simple inspection with the CHP. It should be quick and painless for you.

Just be sure to take out all of your guns, drugs and dead hookers out of the trunk. If they find those they'll probably keep you for at least another hour for inspection.
