What's the LS1 real power?
Everyone knows that the LS1 is underrated by alot. So who in reality knows what they truly push?? Mine dynoed 320rwhp with k&n and lid only. I've heard up to 335rwhp almost stock. That's that's with about 80-110k on em. So who in the world knows what they are really pushing to the crank?

I remember my old 02 has dynoed 336/347 intake/catback only

My 2000 M6 SS dyno'd 316hp/325tq. with factory SLP lid and SLP Dual/Dual.
General rule is 15% loss for Manual and 18-20% loss with Auto.
(Manual)
RWHP / .85 = FWHP
316rwhp / .85 = 371fwhp
(Auto) 18%
RWHP / .82 = FWHP
316rwhp / .82 = 385fwhp

370-380 crank hp for a stock LS1?......IDK sounds high to me. I've seen stockers dyno mostly in the high 290s, depending on gearing. More accurate would be to calculate hp off of track times, those don't lie. Get a stock cars 1/4mi et and mph and calculate the hp with a DA correction.

I think everyone here understands that no two engines are exactly alike. Some are freaks, that put down over 330WHP in stock form, while most of the LS1 F-bodies will put down 280WHP-300WHP.
I know everyone says the LS1 in the Vette is the same LS1 as was in the Camaro/Firebird. But there are subtle differences. The Vette had a better exhaust and intake system, which could account for about a 5-10HP advantage. The LS1 in the Vette was rated at 345HP, if I remember correctly.
So the LS1 in the Firebird/Camaro should be around 330-340HP.

The LS1 C5s were rated at 350hp 375ft/lbs after 2002. Youre right, better exhaust manifolds and the LS6 intake after 2002. Thing is C5s put down less power sometimes and 1/4mi times because most came with 2.73s and a few with 3.15s for non Z06 coupes. Not sure if they shared the same cam as F-Bodies but the thing is Ive seen shops that dyno cars really high to keep people happy, especially customers, or low numbers to sell tunes so you never know sometimes. I'd rather trust track times though they have variables as well.
Even a Vette with 2.73's should be running quicker than a Camaro with 3.23's...right?

Not really. That's a good difference in gearing, off the line it would make a difference and the vette would have a good gap to have to cover. Even a lighter car could have a hard time catching up because the hp difference is not that big. A car in it's power band can be hard to catch. That's why cars that will get blown off the line always wanna roll race or fwy race, lol. Up to speed the extra trq and aerodynamics of the vette would help it but they are more designed for top speed sports car performance.

That sounds like a bit more honest of a dyno. Then just add 15-20% drivetrain loss. Also guys who dyno even a stock car with an aftermarket torque converter should realize that it will make a difference. At lock up the drivetrain loss is about as low as a manual trans, 10-15% compared to 20% or more for non lock up. Lockup converters reach near 100% efficiency. Another reason I don't mind my slush box.
