Default Anyone replaced a clutch?

I am looking to get my 2000 Trans Am up and running again. I have been having clutch problems since last year and the car has been down for a while.
I am looking to move soon so I need to get this car running again so I don't have to tow it.

I have a good clutch for it and bought a new slave as well.

Let me know if anyone in the area would be able to help. I am located in Riverside.

Thanks.

I can usually start the car, but after a couple of cycles on the clutch pedal it ends up sticking to the floor

That is from your hydraulic system, not the clutch. try flushing fluid out see if that fixes issue. If clutch is bad lets say, you are in gear 5th or 6th traveling around 65mph, if you floor the throttle your rpm will jump to redline and car will not accelerate.

I'd put in a new master first and bleed it, this is most common of what I've seen. Your pressure plate could be fd too tho, I live in Indian hills area and have a trans jack if needed. Replacing the master is relatively simple just a bish to get to up under the dash and disconnect.

If its hydraulic system issues, then that may be a bit easier than replacing the entire clutch. My initial though was that the slave was going out and figured while I was in there to replace the clutch since the car has almost 80K.

Anyone have time to give me a hand?

Would like to get this car running if anyone can lend a hand. Moving this month so it needs to be soon since I would prefer not to have to tow it.

I had that problem when I first bought my car. It is better to replace your master cylinder and slave cylinder at the same time. I was told by a trusted mechanic that replacing only one sometimes leads to the other going out within a few months.

That being said, I just flushed the fluid and replaced the master at that time and that fixed my problem. I then switched the slave a short while after that.
