yup. and i dont go to brea cause its not interesting for me.

i mean its cool, ive been there and done that. But hanging out in parking lots talking about cars only to get hassled by the police - as opposed to hanging out in a parking lot of a diner that CATERS to cars and has a car show ever friday night and the police come and say hi to everyone and check out mods and shoot the **** with you... really isnt a comparison.

hey 8GTOKLR - you gonna be @ this one?

seriously? i mean this isnt a cheesy attempt to get me to tell all the mods ive done to the car so that you can turn it around and laugh at my "wimpy" car like a lot of v8 owners have? (im serious about the question.)

Pardon me if I'm just a little bit skeptical, cause most of the v8 owners I've met only like to ask so they can use the info as ammo to try to make fun of me or upset me. But those that respect that I'm doing what I want with what I have, I dont mind talkin bout my car with.

basically i took a stock 3.4L RWD engine that came in my 1994 camaro and i switched the crappy cast iron heads and Y shaped intake manifold to aluminum heads from a 1996 (3100 - 3.1L engine) Grand Am GT and an intake manifold to match. also meant i had to switch the fuel injectors and get headers to fit (the stock exh. manifolds wouldnt).

This took me to 170rwhp/207rwtq (200 hp / 243 tq (from 140/215 stock)).

I then upgraded to parts from a 2000 Grand Am GT - never dyno'd. managed to somehow flatten the stock cam and upgraded to a comp cams camshaft, which after doing that i dyno'd and it bumped me up to the 216/250 that i have now. and thats with a 10:1 Air-fuel ratio and a vibration in the driveline, which, about a month and a half ago, claimed the life of my stock t-5 transmission (sighs). so if you know of one for sale im lookin for that rite now.

-------------------------------

Just so everyone that hasn't met me knows, I'm as serious about my "little" 3.4L v6 as all of you are about your V8's. If you don't understand why anyone would like their v6, sorry I cant explain it to you. I'm not trying to be a jerk, just saying that I like what I have and I want to modify it.

Anyway, there's the long answer. Hope it's whatcha wanted.

at the mo: a megasquirt standalone fuel management system. so i can get teh 10:1 A/F ratio tuned out (cause 10:1 sucks ***).

after that - turbos. custom made. but thats a long way off. i estimate tuning the car will get me to the 200 rwhp mark with slightly bigger injectors (i have 19# rite now...was thinking of 22 or 24)

I feel ya! I've had some fast v6's before. I had a 91 RS 3.1L auto, that put down 165rwhp/180rwtq, after that I had an extended cab step side 97 GMC Sonoma ZQ8, with a 4.3L H.O. with a 5spd, and a zexel torsen posi, that put down 220rwhp/245rwtq. I miss that truck! I could woop *** on stockish GT stangs... I was gonna swap an LS1/T56 in to it. Unfortunately some dumb one who was driving drunk hit me on the 15N when i was on my way from Sd to Riverside . Which brought my to my current 96 Z28...

sorry to hear that man. :-/ accidents always suck.

ive already talked to a guy thats done 12's in a 3.4 with a single turbo and the crap iron heads (that i dont have anymore).

We both figure I'll be good for at least 12's, and possibly 11's too. And it'll be streetable (as in easy to drive on the street.) Really can't wait to see what putting twins on the 3.4 will put the hp/tq to. Just to see it will be interesting

But as I said. That's a ways off. I have a 85 shot sitting in my closet that I might toss on for ***** and giggles. Edelbrock universal kit.

meh. It's all moot cause i fawked up my tranny and am looking for a new unit. I think i lost some teeth on the input shaft. that or something internal. car makes a thudding noise and shakes while moving foward, any gear or clutch pedal pushed in with car in gear. (wont do it moving backward or with car in neutral)

anyone know anyone with a T5 for sale with a 3.75 or similar first gear?
