Default do you guys think i can pass a CA smog test... opinions please

I have an 01 z06 that currently has halltech cold air, bb bullets, tpis long tubes, no cats and planning a g5x3 cam install next month along with a synergy tune. I know i need to put the cats back on the for the sniffer but do you guys think i can pass smog with the mods above... i am not worried about the visual just the actual sniffer.

I just brought the car over to california 4 months ago and did my smog testing to register the car in CA. since then i have added all the above mentions mods. I dont know how smog checks work here in california. when am i do for my next smog check? I assume i have a few more years before i have to worry about it?

thanks guys

No way in hel you will pass with the longtubes, even with cats you won't pass the visual.

Califonia law reads that the cats are not to be moved form the factory location.

and the fact they are bullet cats.. and not OBII compliant 3 way cats.. and yeah you moved the location of them... then of course.. long tubes are automatic NO..

sorry man.. not unless you have friends in the industry.. you're going to fail the second they pop the hood.

Well since u said your not worried about the visual longtubes and the cats are no big deal. Although the cam will not pass even with the cats and a dead on tune imo. You only have to smog every two years.

To answer one of your questions, you have two years between smog checks. Enjoy your conjugal visit while it lasts.

I was in the same boat (bought my car out-of-state) and my two years are almost up. Once I'm smogged again in early 2007, I'll make more changes.

My friend owns a smog station but his shop is 2 hours away. do i actually need to run my car on the sniffer test or is there a way he can just print somthing out showing i pass. I have yet to ask him but when i see him again i will inquire.

PM'ed you with some help.

I passed about six months ago, and didn't change anything. My signature is what is and was on the car when I smogged it.
