emoney97ss NEED help emergency!!!!!
me and my friend just bought a ss from new york and we are driving it back. we are almost to denver colorado and something is wrong in the valvetrain I'm guessing bent pushrod or broken valve spring or maybe a lift. we have no tools so I can't stop and tear it down. we be in vegas sometime in the morning we are driving at low rpms but there is a tapping coming from the top of the motor. I can't check up on this to much cause I'm using the internet on my phone so please call me at 760 2673287 if someone knows a shop we could stop at tomorrow or even if you have the right tools I can do all the work I just need some tools!!!! so someone please help!!!!

If it's an LT1 so I would bet $20 it is just an exhaust leak coming from the back of the passenger side manifold...
If it's an LS1 w/ a 6-speed then probably a bent rod...
Regardless, even a 24 hour Wal-Mart will have most the tools you need (everything but a valve spring compressor)...

no it didn't over heat or anything like that... no knocking from the motor... just started out of no where... we did drive the car 2 straight days but damn it wasn't like we were revving the motor to 6000 the whole time.... it probably didn't even see 4500.... it had a tad bit more than 40 at idle then when you gave it gas it went up to above 60 so i figured it was good... then but the oil pressure started dropping kinda by the day almost like when a cars heats up..... but didn't do it tell two days we drove somewhere around 1500 miles and then bam.... does anyone think this is our fault or was it bound to happen before we bought it?
