hi, I have a 2001 SOM camaro SS. I plan on buying some chrome torque thrust rims A.S.A.P. I dont know if I should go w/ 17'' or the 18''. I plan on going 275 on the front and 315 in the back. I am also going to lower the car a bit. do I have to run low profile tire in the rear? or normal tires will be fine. will I have to use spacer?

The widest they make in the 18 is 18x10 so the biggest tire that is recommended for that wide of a rim is 295. Go with the 17x9.5 and 17x11 with the 315/35/17 in the rear. The rims and lower ride height will look good.

You WILL either have to roll or cut them w/ 11's in the rear. If you lower get Adj. PHB, and LCA's w/ relocation brackets. w/o these during hard driving the rear will walk side to side and cause clearance issues.
Didnt' buy them they came w/ the car so can't say a price. I did have to clerance the damned thing though, the passenger side was gougging the tire to death. I cut the fenders because i've heard of f-body quarter panels buckling from rolling. Left a lil more than 1/4 inch of a lip though on the inside, and had to use a ford wrench on the inner fender here and there.

Do you mean 17x9.5? I didnt know that they made a 10.5. I ran my 11 inch rear with no problems. I couldn't run the tires with the Eibachs springs though. So I put my stock springs on with the Bilsteins shocks and took out the big ruber dampner and put wrapped rubber hose around a few of the spring coils. When I did that I NEVER had another issue with the 315's rubbing on the fender well. You also have to make sure when you do put on the relocation brackets PHB and TQ arm that you have it all adjusted at ride height. The best way to do that is on a drive on ramp. You don't want to tighten any of the parts down when it is hanging because you can bind up the bubber bushings and they will load up when they are sitting on the ground and act like they are presprung. You can also rent the fender roller from a few people on this board. Make sure that you use a heat gun. It should take about 1 to 2 hours for each side. The longer you take and the slower that you go the better it will turn out. If you need healp let me know.
