help quick a4 ls1 tranny stuck

Default help quick a4 ls1 tranny stuck

ok so me and my dad are trying to take out the tranny. all bolts are off but stuck just as it wants to come off. does the torque converter come with the tranny? are we missing something?

Did you unbolt the torque converter?

no nor the starter ... how do i get the bolts thet are a star or hex. any body want to guide me and my dad in the morning? i will turn all the wrenches?

There is 3 bolts that you need to take off holding the torque converter to the flex plate. You need to take the starter off to get to the bolts. And you will need to open the little inspection hole on the bottom of the trans and get a pry bar in there to turn the flex plate so you can get to all 3 torque converter bolts.

how many quarts of oil go in to the torque converter?

I think I put a little more than 2 in mine, it was brand new though.

depends on the size of the converter...can take anywhere from 1-3 on a car converter
