Default sell the trans am?

I am thinking of selling the trans am(just thinking) and fixing up my third gen, not just fixing it up but I would wanna push around 700hp, do the whole nine. The third gen is a 89 firebird formula 5.0. Obviously the motor and tranny would have to go and would probably just build the **** out of an lt1 or just a 350, with a t56 and obviously a 9" in the back. I would wanna keep it a sleeper all it needs is a paint job, and the car is cherry cosmeticly. Keep in mind that this is just a idea I have just recently been throwing around(two weeks or so). The main reason for this is because I was looking at stroker kits, froced induction setups and head and cam stuff and its like double and sometimes triple of what it would cost me to build up the thrid gen. BUT I do LOVE my 4th gen, as much as I like the 3rd gens, I like to 4th gens just that much more. So what do you guys think?

Really, our cars don't pull that much cash these days so I'd keep it definately. Besides, from what I've seen you've got a pretty nice bird there. So why part with a good thing that you LIKE BETTER??

Just a thought, but if your building the 3rd gen... your going to need a DD. It sucks working on the car when you have to have it to get to work.

Well if you compare them to just a regular 350 they are alot more expensive. I was looking at stroker kits for the 4th gen and they were like $3800 where as for the 350 they were like $500. Thanks man, thats whats I have been thinkin about, but damn sometimes I just want a really fast car

dont do it. Your not going to save much if any money over doing the LS build up. Think about it, the only thing you may spend a little more on is the motor it self and that would be worth it. If your going to be building a 700hp motor, its going to be expensive regardless, and way easier with the LS. Iron/forged/ 402 shortblock, ls6 cam and procharge it and your damn near done. Looking around 10 grand for that set up. Try getting that out of a LT1 or TPI with the same driveability, aint happening.
