Default What's a 96 SS M6 with a blown motor worth?

I'm looking to get back into another Camaro to build up similar to my 01 Z28 I sold last summer. I came across this 96 SS...

http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/da...885941809.html

I left a message for the seller but have not heard back on it yet. If the car is clean and in good shape, what would be a fair price to pay for it? Obviously the true mileage of the car would be helpful, but unfortunately I do not know that yet. With that being said, what kind of ballpark could one expect to pay for something like this depending on condition?

Thanks.

500.00 or less it's a 20 year old car with a blown motor.

I was going to say around $1k maybe a little more if all of the parts are brand new. That sheet of snow in the picture would make me worried about rust...

Intelligent response. Thanks for the input.

I agree about the snow, still waiting to hear back on the condition and hopefully get more pictures.

I see stock roller cars go for 2-3k. I bought my 01 Z28 with a blown motor and a 6 speed for $2800. I sold the transmission for $1300, sold some other items off the car, and wasn't into the car for much at that point.

LT1 SS cars aren't very common in the first place. Depending on condition this car should fetch $2500 or more IMO.

If that's what you're willing to pay, then that's what it's worth. LT1 rollers just aren't worth as much as LS1 rollers. Also, LT1 T56's aren't all that desirable not so say it wouldn't be work $1k on it's own. If you do end up picking it up, I expect a build thread with many pictures

I hear ya. I was just curious as to what others may value the car as if it were in good shape. I would never pay the current price on it, that's for sure. It would have to be less than 3k for me to pick it up. I have always had a thing for an LT1 SS though.

There would be a build thread for sure. I have a 93 Mustang Hatch that I am thinking of selling and starting a build with another Fbody. I would want another setup similar to what I had in my 01 Z28.

$1500-2000 if it has all the right parts and isn't a rot bucket underneath
The car is worth a lot more in pieces then it would be worth as a whole

Depending on the options it came with and the condition of the specialty parts the car could fetch easily $2k from just the novelty SS Parts:

Hood (600+)
Spoiler (200+)
Z28SS Air Filter Housing (250+ this could be an insanely higher number as I never even see them)
Floor Mats (200+ depending on condition)
Level II Suspension (400+)
2OTL Exhaust (200+)
ZR1 Wheels (600+)

This not including just the body as a roller (even at scrap price). I would value it around 3K and would honestly hate to see a car with such low production numbers get stripped. Although I am currently looking for spares of some of these pieces so if you know anyone with one let me know or if you purchased as I saw the ad was deleted I would be willing to pay for parts.

The ad has been pulled. Either sold or the owner is doing something else with the car.
