Default Need opinion on a 454SS Truck

I believe it is a 93 454 SS my wife's Uncle has. He is getting ready to sell it soon, from what i saw other than it being dusty it was in pretty good shape, wheels need refinished and maybe a paint correction. 60k miles BUT the block was replaced, what's everyone's opinion? I was thinking low 30's tops...can anyone chime in?

1994 Chevy truck for 30K? I could build one hell of a truck for that.. All the SS had was shocks and stickers didn't it?
Is it the half ton or 3/4 ?

Wow. Are these really going for $30k+ with 60k miles, a service-replacement engine and being in need of cosmetic work? Nice trucks, but that's definitely not a market in which I would participate if prices are THAT high for such an example. I know everything is inflated right now (with trucks being some of the most impacted examples), but this seems unreasonable even at today's prices IMO.

LOL, You would think that but they get a premium for low mileage 454 SS trucks, I've seen one sell for almost 50k before auction fees but it only had 600 miles on it.
It's not unheard of for them to sell in the 20-40 range depending on mileage and condition, But it sounds like the one the OP is talking about is still way over priced since it's not a number matching engine and needing paint correction (how bad is it OP?). Might be a 10-20k truck depending on the overall condition. Plus 60,000 miles is not low mileage in the collector world.

This may of been the wrong forum to ask just thought some people would have a better understanding. That being said...the paint isn't bad by any means, he's just stored it without a cover for a few years I'm just assuming it will need a good clean and buffing by a professional...The only thing really that is concerning is the block having been replaced, it is the correct block spec etc...other than that it is a clean truck.

Its also likely very that your location is a big deal, 7 western states still have a lot of rust free GM trucks,, A lot,, most of them with a bazillion miles on them.

The early 90's 454 trucks, had a name for losing compression.
Was very common for them to glaze bores if not used to actually pull heavy loads.

I worked at a company that had a bunch of 3/4 ton 454 long beds, the ones that hauled job trailers around outlasted the "supervisor" cruiser by a lot.
I always thought the best break-in was do 500 miles then put about 15K lbs behind one and drive it back and forth over some mountain passes to set the rings..
One if the highest mile ones we had that never needed touched had a tool bed with a boom on it and was used to haul generator engines around, Was often north of 35,000 on the scales.
Company sold it off at 300K. It never had anything but oil and tuneups and normal service.. (We also changed trans fluid regularly.. )

Also the 90's were not teh good paint years for GM.. LOL Lord help you if you bought a blue metallic one.
