Kumho or Nitto?

Kumho or Nitto?
I was wondering what tire I would be better off with. I have a stock 2000 trans am but I can't get the thing to hook up off the line what so ever. Right now I have the Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 and want to go to the Kumho ECSTA MX or the Nitto 555. I don't want to have to buy tires every 3 months and I also want to take turns hard without having to worry. So basically I want what everyone wants (Long tread wear, great acceleration off the line and great handling) Thanks for the Help!

Is your car stick or auto? Hooking up a M6 on the street with street tires is gonna be tough unless you are running drag radials. Autos are a bit easier but once you drop in a stall coverter you have the same problems.

nitto 555R is my vote.
yoko-a-509's = 40 feet burnout totally stock A4 2.73
add TSP lid/filter, hooker catback,!cai,TB bypass + nitto 555R = nada, zip, zero burnouts.. unless im on gravel or something.
asr light? whats that.

Re: Kumho or Nitto?
Kumho sucks, i have had both humho and nitto. Nittos are way better then Kumhos. They balance out better handle the rain better grip better and wear even. I have about 7000 miles on my nittos right now and havent had any problems do to traction or uneven wear. I had the kumho for 11,000 miles and had no traction, they were cupped out, and really suck in the rain. I also worked a shop at the time and always rotate and balance my tires with my 4000mile oil change.

Re: Kumho or Nitto?
Are you serious? Ecsta 712s were awsome in the rain. They have a bigger center channel than any other tire made. Mine have worn perfectly. they were def a shitload better than the goodyears my car came with. as far as the MX is concerned I have no idea. 712 is definetly best tire for the money, but if youve got like 400 hp and 4.11s, what the **** did you expect from a 40 series street tire?

I have put about 20K on them as my car is a daily driver. They are great in the rain.
Provided you keep them rotated & balanced you can't beat them for the price. Once these wear out i will go with the Mx's. Sounds like a great tire.

Yep for an EVERYDAY tire the Kuhmo 712s are sweet for the money. For traction and everyday driving get the drag radials they last pretty darn long and stick damn good too. The only complaint I could say about them is that at high speed corners 85-90 on the highway you can feel the softer sidewall....
I ran Kuhmos up front and Nitto dr back a great combo and I live in Portland it rains all the time. That was on an 93 T56 that ran mid 12's...

Being only about a $20 difference from the 712 to the 555; 555 wins hands down in my book. If you love the 712 you would nut for the 555. I never had the kumho mx; i have heard they were good. I think im trying the Yokohama AVS dB S2 next.
I wish i had 400hp.

Re: Kumho or Nitto?
i got the MX's, and love em
for the price and wet handling that is
I put 10k miles on em, and they havent even worn down any at all
but i might have peeled the tires twice with these tires though, i am a bit of a grandpa-driver
