Default Put on the new Toyo TQ's today, few pics on the Fikse's

Put on the new toyo's today, they are the 315/35r17's. So far I have taken it easy on them for the most part, didnt heat them up yet but after driving about 15 miles I nailed it from a light and they stuck good, this is with a 3400 stall so I am anxious to see how they hook when heated at the track, gonna try to go tomorrow. Here's a few pics, photobucket is being gay with the sizing on the last one, nm fixed

No problem, I couldn't pass up the price on them and they look like they would be the best drag radial in rain, since this is my daily I have to consider that, even though I drive 35 on the highway in the rain anyway.

But im the last person you want to ask how long tires will last lol, im not easy on them at all, my last set of tires, sumitomo's, lasted 5 months, but that was only around 6-8 thousand miles, didnt care they were cheap. I am gonna try to take it easy on these though. Im guessing ill get about the same mileage out of these if I do, maybe 10 thousand if I am real easy and run them way down??. I dunno this is my first 'new' set of drag radials. I think the only DR to get any considerable mileage is the nitto's proabably, but I want better stick.

Did you have any rub? I couldn't tell if they were sticking out of the wheel well at all. I'm looking to get a set of those Toyo's. Good luck with them and keep us posted.

Looks good man, I think I may try these out also. Did you purchase them locally or order online? Can you PM me a link if you ordered them online?

Thanks for the compliments guys, yeah I love they way they look too.

blkZ28mara

yes I needed to get out the BFH for the inner fenders and i used a fender roller to roll the fenders, no rubbing now. Did rub before on the inner and outer fender with my BFG radials

dman3

these tires dont rub no, but I put them on after I did what I posted above, BUT the BFG drag radials in the same size did rub before, and no they dont stick out past the fender wells but are damn close.

jerflash

I haven't cornered hard yet only had them a couple days but I did go to the track last night and the hooked like a muthafugger, so they should be great in corners, so far they feel awesome, very tight, sticky, and quiet, I highly recommend them dude

LS1 Sounds

I didnt get them online, I ordered them through Kauffman tire here in Dallas, I am a mechanic and at the shop we have an account with them so my shop cost was cheap cheap

As for me rating these tires guys, I only have bolt ons and a 3400 stall so im not really pushing these real hard but I launched as hard as I could at the track and they didnt even think about spinning, they actually pushed my front tires while stalling it up even after fairly light burnouts so I think they are a great choice of DR.

Thanks for the info man, it really helps when a new product like this comes out. What 60' times were you able to cut with these and the PYE3400? Also, how do they hook on the street when they are cold?

That's the main thing I hate about my Nittos, they are hard as rocks when cold. The old Mickey's I had were a different story, but that was also the R1 compound so I don't know how the R2 will be. If these TQs stick OK when cold on the street, I'll definitely be picking them up.

I'm looking for new tires. I have looked in to the toyo tires too. Now I have the nitto 555r drag. I got 4 years out of them(i don't race with then, daily only)and they are shot. the nitto thread wear is a 100. what is the thread wear on the tires you have? I'm looking for something to hook a little better then the nitto, but not as soft as the m/t dr's. Thanks.

I believe the converter is holding me back, its a little too tight, I was pulling 1.85 60 ft's, no tire spin at all, I could only get it to stall up to about 2500 though, since it was bracket racing I couldn't try different things to try to get better times I had to stay consistent, im gonna go back on a test and tune night and try flashing the converter and see if that helps.

So far they hook pretty well cold, far better than the sumitomo's did.

Really wish I had a big sloppy converter so I could really put it to these tires but I feel they would hold a 1.6 60ft just fine.

Holy **** I only got like 5 months out of regular street tires lol, but I abused those sumitomo's bad, I just didnt like them. The treadwear on the Toyo is 0, and these feel really soft so not sure how they are gonna stack up to the M/T's
