Offset is the distance from the lug plat to the center line of the wheel.
BS is the distance the the back side of the wheel to the lug plate, but each wheel bead is slightly different in size, so that is the unknown factor.
But you offset will be around 57~58 mm, as you said. May have to do a littel inner wheel well massaging but nothing major.

From the chart in the first post I may be 3mm off what is acceptable My thinking is 3mm seems "close enough" but what do I know  Anyway, if anyone can help me out whether these wheels are OK or not, that would be great !
PS: Sorry if this is a dumb question.

35 mm is really pushing the limits. Since you have a Firebird the wheel wells, especially out back are a little wider than a Camaro, so there is extra room.
All the wheels on my Camaros are 38 mm offset. The Berger has 9.5's on all foru corners and the Red Vert has 9.5's front and 10.5's rear. So use my pics as a guide . . .

I just won some 18x9" wheels with a 7.00" backspace (+50mm offset). I heard I can go as wide a 285. Is this true and do I need the BFH? I'd like to go with Goodyear GSD3's (which are a little fatter than other tires)

12inch rim???
X you said that a 12 inch rim wont fit in the wheel. If the offset is right it should fit. to me if a 315/35x17 GSD3 can fit in the wheel well then a 12ich rim with the right offset should fit???
I know they are making the z06 rims in 18x12 with a 64mm offset and it will pull the wheel in. But how much of a spacer do you need to to get it sit flush with the fender or just inside of it.
I plan on roller the fender and doing the BFH mod but I need to kknow the offset
