They will be fine.

38 mm on a 8.5" wide wheel is just fine. The sidewall of the tire will be 1/2" inwards compared to my 9.5" wide 38 mm offset wheels

Just a quick theory question... Right now I am running 285/35/18's (11.22" wide) in the rear on a 18x9.5" wheel with a 54mm offset. For simplicity's sake, lets say this is the perfect offset so the tire doesnt rub on the inner fender well, meaning under hard cornering the tire is just barely not touching the inner fender.

Now lets say I want to go to a 18x10.5" wheel with 315/30/18 (12.40" wide). What offset do I need??? Well, since the 54mm offset was perfect so to speak, I would want all of the additional tire width to go away from the inner fender towards the outside of the car. I have an additional 1.18" of tire I need to deal with. Would it make sense to subtract 1.18" from the +54mm offset to get a working offset with the new wheel. This offset would be about +24mm. I realize this is the wrong offset but I am wondering why it doesnt work like this.

Actually maybe its only half of the extra tire width that you subtract from the offset to get the new offset?

The overall width of your wheel incrases by and 1" but the center line only moves 1/2" . . . . So . . . .

The offset changes by 1/2" or ~12.7 mm if you add all the width to the outside. So the new offst would be 54 mm - 12.7 mm = 41.3 mm offset.

ANYONE know the correct part number for the longer studs from ARP? Went to a speed shop today and they had some for "late model GM" and the splines were a little bigger and the stud was WAY longer then I need. I only need about 1/2" more threads. On Summits web site they about about 10 different sizes for the 12x1.50 metric studs.

Anyone know off the top of their head the right one?

Also, I can only seem to find 5/16" and 7/16" spacers(cheapie mr gaskets) anyone know where I can get 1/2" spacers? Not the $150 hub centric, just regular spacers..

Thanks in advance!

Im thinking of getting rid of my EVO's & Im looking at a set of deep dish wheels kinda like the CCW 505's and they are offered in 3 different offsets, which one if any would I need to get? The wheel is 18x9.5 deep dish wheel. The availiable off sets are 20mm, 35mm, & 42mm. I dont want them to sit inside the fender well, then again I dont want them to stick out either.

Mind has changed a bit. Will these fit?

There are two 18" x 8.5" (+56mm offset with 6.93" backspacing) rims for the front and two 18" x 10.5" (+56mm offset/7.94" backspacing) for the rear. The lug pattern is 5x120.65mm.

And can you give any spring reccomendations?

42 mm front. 35 mm would be OK out back.

Safe would be all four to be 42 mm.

Yeah those will fit.

Springs: I'd suggest DMS, Hotchkis or BMR 1" drop.

About how would the 42mm offset sit? as far as the wheel sticking out or tucking in goes?

OK, so now doing the math. Your new wheels are 1/2" wider and the offset I am recomending is different by 4 mm.

Compared to the wheels you have now the wheel will move 4 mm inwards, but the rim gains a 1/4" per side or 6 mm . . . therefore . . .

The face of a 42 mm offset 9.5" wide wheel will sit 2 mm further outwards compared to what you have installed now.

Hopefully that is clear.

I have 18x10.5" Z06 reps, how wide of a tire can I put on them? I currently have 275's on them but they look way too small. I would really like some 335-30's but need to know if they'll fit. I do plan on lowering my car a bit, not sure how much yet.

Thanks, Sean
