I am looking at a set of wheels for my grand am with winter tires mounted on them that a guy is selling about 45 minutes away from me..

He said that they came off a cutlass and have a 5x115 bolt pattern...tire rack says my car has a 5x100 bolt pattern..

so my question is..will his wheels possibly be able to fit my car..or is this just too much of a difference in bolt pattern that there is no way they will line up?

I am just asking because if these measurement are close enough to get them on I would like to purchase them since he is selling them CHEAP and need some winter tires ASAP..

I know I could find out by just test fitting one on my car, but didn't want to have to drive 45 minutes one way to find that they won't fit so thought I would make absolutly sure on here first, and if there is no way possible I won't waste the gas to go try to test fit them.

Thanks guys.

Bolt pattern is off by 15 mm . . . ain't gonna fit.

I saw some rims for sale, 19x12, +50mm/+59mm offset are these too fat to fit?

An 11" wheel is the widest I say that would fit in a F-Car wheel well . . . .

A 11" ZR1 comes in a 50 mm offset, and BFH is needed, so adding more width means more modding.

I found a set of black C6 Z06 replicas sized at 18 x 9.5 / 56mm. Could I do 255/35/18's up front and 275/35/18's out back or would I need to go 275 on all four corners? I would like to do something where I don't have to whack my car with a hammer and still have it look decent. Also, I plan on lowering the car after probably with a pro kit.

Okay, I apologize in advance, as I am positive this has been asked/answered before. However, I read through the first fifteen pages of this and just kind of burned out, so hopefully this isn't too much of an inconvenience.

I've got a Trans Am, therefore I've got slightly bigger wheel wells, if I understand correctly.

If I was to go with the ol' ZR1 replicas w/ a 50mm offset and, say, BFG KD 315-series tires... I'm gonna need to do some wheel well bashing, right? Or is this a Camaro-specific thing? Will I need to roll the fenders? What if I lower the car?

And, finally, if I do have to bang out the wheel well, what exactly do you mean by undercoating? Just the standard spraycan crap you can get at Napa/PartSource/wherever?

I'd do 275/35ZR18 all four . . . then you can rotate. No BFH needed with 9.5" wide wheels @ 56 mm offset.

Some inner hweel well massaging will most likely need to be done since your want to run BFG's . . . Minor.

Under coating, yup the rattle can stuff. I actually used the rattle can truck bed liner stuff on mine.

Rolling the lip may need to be done if you are lowered, but might not.

Thanks very much, Xsta Z! I appreciate the help. Also, if you've got time for one last question (I'm sorry); my TA is a pre-LS1. I've read one or two posts that claim I need some kind of bumpstop adapter due to the fact it's not a '98+. Is this true? I know it's some SLP piece, and it's cheap, but I'd rather not order parts I don't need. :p

Once again, thanks!

Xsta, do you know if a 15 X 8 wheel with a 4" backspacing will work on the rear of an 01 SS without too much caliper grinding? This is the wheel...

Shopuldn't be an issue. WHat I would do is get the wheels and tires mounted, "if" the axle travel is too much then order the bumstop spacer from SLP.

Also, just as an FYI, on the LT1 cars, the rear axle hubs run larger than LS1 hubs, so you may have to massage the "button" that sticks out or ream the center hole of the wheel just a touch.

I do not beleive so. With the 4" BS the wheel will actually stick out of the wheel well. If I recall correctly you need 5.5" I do not know a whole lot about drag wheels, and deal mostly with offset vrs BS.

I see. Well, I really appreciate the information. By the sounds of things, that shouldn't be much of an issue.

Thanks again, and once more, I'm sorry for tying you up with so many questions.

Here is a link to a nice photo that shows different measurements of wheels......offset versus backspacing, etc

Would it be possible to run a 295/35 18 BF Goodrich g-Force T/A Drag Radial or a 295/35 18 BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 on my Y2K 9.5" rear wheels. Right now i am running 275/35 BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2 on all fours. With my new added power i was wanting to add some more traction.
Thanks

Will I need to use a BFH when I go to put my 17X10.5 chrome torque thrusts and 315/35/17 tires on my 99 SS?

Do you know the offset??? But I do not believe you will need to worry about it, and if it does, it would be really minor.

I want to say they are 45mm offset? My fiance got them for me from TomZWheels.
