Since it seems that you can get away with more width with a slick on a 15 x 8 rim.
I want the fattest street use tire I can get on a 15 x 8 pro-star.

Any advice?
I hear up to 295's. Is that excessive?

295/50R15 fits an 8" wheel. It is 26.7" tall.

damn!!!

Thank you very much.
I would think that has a fair amount of hook and intimidation factor to do the job and save a few $$ by not grabbing 15 x 10's..

How about the fitment of 18x8.5 with 56mm offset all the way around? What tires for these wheels on 99 camaro? The more I read, the less sense it all makes.....

Question Any concerns with this?

Thanks for the Thanks, but FYI I am Andrew, Todd was at Discount Tire, and I used most if not all of his info to compile my data.
Oops, my Bad Andrew...I did a mock up yesterday and this is my only concern, the bumpstop:

The bumpstop is riding inside the wheel some what...

Thats fine. No worrries. Unless you like to play Dukes of Hazzard and do jumps, in everyday driving you will never contact the BS with the wheel.

The only problem that you run into is the rear wheels and tires cannot be mounted or removed without the rear axle beiling supported.

Should fit fine. The wheels will be tucked in a fair bit being 8.5" wide and a 56 mm offset.

Tires: 245/40ZR18

IE-Don't jack up the car via the frame or put onto a lift without the rear wheels/tires being removed prior to using a lift?
If so, great point, thanks, never even crossed my mind.

Would you suggest running a particular size(s) spacer for the front and the back?

Ok, just dropped off my chrome ttii's in 17x 9.5 w/275/40-17 and 17x11 w315/35-17, tires are Sumitomo HTR Z's. After waiting 3 weeks on my 315's (Tom ran out!!) now I have to wait 2 days to get them all mounted up, but this is the best tire guy in my home town so I don't mind waiting a few more days....

BTW- For those thinking of buying some 315's, apparently these are getting hard to find cause the brand I bought is in the process of changing them, so what's in stock now may be the last ones for a while...but I found a vendor that has some in stock if anyone needs some, PM me, great price too, get them while you can.
Can't wait!

On stock studs 1/4" . . .

If you want to replace the lug studs you could run up to 1/2" spacers.

Assuming the 8.5" wheel width and a 56 mm offset.

56 mm - 1/2" = ~ 43 mm offset.

Yes, but to be honest the rear could go with an even wider spacer.

Been awhile since I've read through this entire thread, and I don't remember if this has been asked before.

I'm looking to throw some C6 wheels on my '99 Z28, and was wanting to get the 10.5s on the rear of the car. According to the backspacing info, the fronts will fit without a problem, but it looks like the +58 offset on the rears won't work. Is anyone running these (C6 - 18 X 10.5 rears), and if so, what did you have to do to get them to fit, and what size tire are you running?

Thanks in advance.

JC

58 mm offset 10.5" wheels fit, will need to do some BFH to the inner wheel well. Wheels will look tucked into the wheel well, so some people do run spacers.

Much appreciated, thanks man. I'll look into this come spring time. My car has almost seen its last road action for this year (damn Indiana weather).

Sorry if this is a repeat or a horribly stupid question....but you guys are the pros on here, so I appologize ahead of time for my stupidity.

This isn't f-body related but thought someone could help

I am looking at a set of wheels for my grand am with winter tires mounted on them that a guy is selling about 45 minutes away from me..

He said that they came off a cutlass and have a 5x115 bolt pattern...tire rack says my car has a 5x100 bolt pattern..

so my question is..will his wheels possibly be able to fit my car..or is this just too much of a difference in bolt pattern that there is no way they will line up?

I am just asking because if these measurement are close enough to get them on I would like to purchase them since he is selling them CHEAP and need some winter tires ASAP..

I know I could find out by just test fitting one on my car, but didn't want to have to drive 45 minutes one way to find that they won't fit so thought I would make absolutly sure on here first, and if there is no way possible I won't waste the gas to go try to test fit them.

Thanks guys.
