I just heard a rumor that a 285 can fit on an 18 in the front of my 02 Camaro without rubbing....is that true?

Honestly do not see why you'd want to run a 285 up front. But anyway depending on the offset of the wheel will dictate whether it will rub. My 275's rub, but my offset is very extreme

Default C5 Vett Magnesium wheels

I have a chance to buy a set of 98 C5 vett mag wheels the gold coloured ones without tires will they fit my 99 Z 28

They are the soft satin gold ones. 2 x 17" and 2 x 18". the seller hasn't put the widths in his ad but, I have read this thread and I think the fronts are 8.5 wide and will fit.

The rears I think will be 9.5" Will these fit without BFH or will I need spacers on the rears.

I was hoping to swap my 245/45/17 tires for the fronts I want to put Nitto 555r Dr's on the back but what size would fit.

Edit :The seller says they are 17x 8" and 18 x 9" ?

I found a nice combo 17/18 inch C5 wheels. The offset up front is 57mm, and the rear is 65mm. On a non lowered car, would these go do-able without any rub? Oh, and for the rear, I would need like a 1.5 inch spacer, right?

They would be tucked in. The fronts will bolt up but the rear will definitely need a spacer.

Default 285/40/17 on ARTTII 17x11?

I currently have 315/35/17 Nitto 555R on American Racing TT II 17x11 on the rear and 275/40/17 Nitto 555 on American Racing TT II 17x9.5 on the front. The 315s scrub and have some nice scars around the sidewall. I rolled the fender lip at the top and cannot tell if they are still scrubbing, but more than likely they are. Anyway, my question is will Nitto 555 285/40/17's fit on the ARTTII 17x11 rims? I called and asked some tire shops, a few said yes and some said no. 285mm = 11.4 inches so technically they should fit, but I dont want to order them and find otherwise. The 315s also look as if they barely fit. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Why would that make a difference? I certain;ly would not put on a drag radial, but a nice tire such as the Goodyear GSD3 will work fine.

Seriously doubt it . . . 11" wheels with 315's really don't fit Camaros IMHO . . .

by not fitting, do you mean sticking out, or are we talking about the inner dimensions as well? NOthing that a BFH can fix? I was thinking of going this route too, and don't mind if they stick out as I can always flare out the rears. I just wasn't sure if they'd fit the inner walls without tubbing.

Thnx man, I was also going to ask with the 19x12’s would the problem be in the inner fender or do you think they would stick out too much and hit the outer fender? And do you think that tubbing the F-body would make it fit?

The only fender mods I have so far is

-spacer
-completely rolled outer fender
-completely beat in (as much as I could by hand) inner fender with a hammer

Thnx again for your time!
