Black C6 Wheels.. OE Wheels... Tired of my TTMs
I am looking at getting rid of my TTMs.. I have 17x9 (fronts) and 17x10.5 (rears) with 275/40 and 315/35 Nittos on these tires. They have prolly about ~3K miles on them
But anyways the C6 wheels (black with a machined lip) only come in 18s I wish they made a 17x10.5'' wheel, so I will have to suck it up and buy 18s... My question will the 18" wheels offsets fit my car w/o having to roll fenders or take BFH to the car?
What are the offsets of the TTMs? They fit my car with no problems at all.
Do you guys think that 18s are to big for our cars?

You're car is stock height right? If so, I highly doubt any fenders will need to be rolled. Just make sure that the overall tire height is comparable to stock height... Do you know the width/offset of the wheels that you're looking at?

Post some wheel widths and the offsets for a better answer.
The 18 x 10.5s with the +58 offset will not just bolt up. And unluckily a simple spacer is not enough and a hubspacer is borderline too much. Unless you can get them in the correct offset(+50 to +44), your better off with a corvette offset like +65 which a 20mm hubspacer would work perfect with for a +45 offset.

But I am looking at the C6 wheels. Front= 18x8.5 (46mm) and the rears are 18x10.5 (56mm)
I am stock ride height, and I know to get a tire that has a stock diameter of 25.6"

I am a little confused on the whole offset, how it works and what it means.. Can you give me a little more detail?

This should help:
For a +58 offset the hub mounting surface will sit forward 58mm from the centerline of the wheel. If your wheel has a 0 offset then the hub mounting surface is right at the wheel centerline.

I got your PM.. I am trying to do some research first on the 18s before I pull the trigger. I will be selling the TTMs. Trust me when I say they are perfect, and have very little miles on them. The tires I swear look brand spanking new

I just tried putting a set of the C6 18" x 10.5" rears on my 2002 SS. I had them mounted to 305/35/18 Nitto 555R's and it's not even close to fitting properly -- rubs on the bump stops hard even with a 1/4" spacer. I'm going to either add a 1.25" plate adapter or simply go with longer studs and a custom spacer to get it to fit (I'd prefer to not grind down the bumpstops or hammer the insides).
As for the front, good call on maintaining stock diameter -- I went with a 275/40/18 tire on my 18" x 9.5" fronts and it doesn't fit. The only fix is simple -- different tires! Going with a 275/35/18 up front and that should do the trick.

Backspacing is the distance between the wheel mounting face and the outside of the lip (on the backside of the rim)
Offset is as stated above. This is the distance the wheel mounting face is from the center of the rim.
Example: A ten inch rim with a 7" backspacing will ALSO have a positive offset of 2".
This is called a "positive" offset because the tire/wheel is tucked in toward vehicle center.
A ten inch rim with a 3" backspacing will have a negative 2" offset. This is called negative offset because the tire/wheel is pushed outboard from vehicle center.

I just put a set of 18 x 9.5's with 285/35's all around. The wheels have a 56mm positive offset. The fronts fit fine, no issues, the rears were running real close to the bumpstops so I trimmed about a quarter inch off them and smoothed them with a die drinder to make a friendly surface.

What tires are your running? Meaning what brand? And the 285s fit up front w/o issue when your turning?

I got the wheels off eBay from these guys.
http://www.wheelreplicas.com/
The tires came from Tire Rack. Sumitomo's. At $112 apiece I figured I'd give them a try. Tire Rack got my order on a Thursday morning and the tires were sitting on my front porch Friday...
I have absolutely no issues with rubbing anywhere with these tires.
