Why are they not that popular? I know they just came out, but I can't be the only one wanting this setup. Got to be better than Nitto's. It appears they would fit tight like the 315's did on my 11" rims. Thanks for the lead for Intimid8, but I have already pm'd him and no response.

I think most people won't want to re-mount their wheels (take their street tires off thier 17" wheels and then mount these new ET Streets for the track and then re-mount their street tires when they get home) I guess it would be cheaper then buying a whole nother set of wheels, though. I doubt you'd want to run these on the street, as well. Not really sure who these tires are for... Maybe for people who have a 17" wheel and don't mind the terrible streetability of the ET Streets so they can then run them on the street and on the track?

That's the idea of et streets. To be driven on the street.

But I've heard they suck on cornering and basically driving? Because of what I've heard, I'm leaning towards Nittos.

Plan on getting a strip setup then when you start modding your rod. The 315 Nitto's I just purchased last March are toast, and I went to the track 5 times albeit I did heat them pretty good the last couple trips..... ET's on a 17x11 rim will have much better street manners for cornering. Most of the 16x10's out there are on strip wheels....

I actually really do want to try these to see how bad on the street they really are. 15" and 16" are pretty bad on the street - can't corner fast, very unsafe on the freeway, and useless in weather. The 17" ETs may be better for cornering since the sidewall is smaller, but I'd assume they would be just as bad with freeway and rain. I would love to find a great tire with awesome traction that I could run on my Fikse that would be able to control more than 500hp and still be streetable, but I don't think one exists. Maybe the new MT drag radials will do the trick??? One can hope! For now, I'm going to get a nice set of BFG DRs and run them on my 15" Bogarts for the street, but cornering won't be nearly as good as a 17" tire could produce.

If you go to www.mickeythompsontires.com and click on the "what's new" menu on the right, you can see what sizes they will be offereing. There is a thread the Pro Stock John started in (I think) the drag forum that has more info on them. They sound pretty incredible. Just wish I didn't have to wait until March or April to get them...
