Default tires been sitting for a couple of years...

i have some tires still sitting on my old rims on the side of the house, theyve been there for about 3 years now just sitting lol... 3 have alot of tread and one is shot, my front tires have about 50% tread, but due to a bad alignment have no tread on the inside corner, would i be able to put some of these old tires, with good tread on the front and be good to go? could they still possibly be sticky enough to consider putting them on the rear?

im running the ideas of drag radials and driving the car 300 miles up to college through my head so just looking for alternatives to either

It's all relative based on the build date: I got my last set of tires (Potenza RE-01R autocross tires) last year on a more-than-half-off deal because they were 2007 builds: at the 2 year mark autocross racers won't use them. Worked amazing for me though! At least for the first 5,000 miles, then there traction faded as I heat cycled them from the 75 mile a day commute. Still got 21,000+ miles out of them though! And at the end of there life they still allowed me to out dig a very well driven head/cam/exh/3.90 gears FRC C5 running 295/35/?18?19? KDW's and driven by a track veteran who launched perfectly. put 1 car on him through first gear! And the temps were right around 45 degrees outside.

My brother has 10+yr old Goodyear GS-C tires on his fully built and stalled IROC: He only has maybe 10,000 miles on the tires: but its a very HARD 10,000 miles! He says they worked great up until they hit the 6-7 year mark and his 60' times started dropping. Went from a time of 1.8-1.9 seconds to now probably a 2.0 -2.1 60'.

They said on 20/20 that tires expire six years from their build date.

Look at the sidewall and in between the tread. See if there's any cracks at all. They have a hard glazed over feeling too when they're dry rotting. Sitting outside for 3 years in NY I'd say they probably are dry rotted, in which case no don't use them.

Somebody posted this video a while ago in the lounge, but I couldn't find the thread so I'll repost it. Lot's of good info and it shows you how to tell how old your tires are.
