Default Fiske Fm5's On A Lowered '02 Ws6- Questions...

i'm gonna be lowering my '02 ws6 w/ eibach pro kit springs and i also want to to install fiske fm5's. i plan on staying w/ 17's but i am looking into 315's out back. how bad is it to install 315's on the back of one of these cars, and what are the draw backs? if it's a big deal, i might just stay w/ the 275's out back. pics would help alot if anyone has 315's on the back. thanks...

I saw some pics of some 315's out back. I think they look kinda wide IMO. I know some people don't have them for looks but the grip. I don't know much about tires , i have a question ,,,,,Does Wider mean they are better hooking up? Also there is a Thread about what people have upfront with their Nitto's. One of the guys who posted in there was running 315's on the back. I clicked on his webpage and he has some pics., one in particular from directly behind the car. It's a WS6 also. I will post his webpage for ya.

Hehe.. all the pictures of 17's on that page are 315's in the rear.
315's on FM5's would look great! Depending on the backspacing, you may need to do a little "massaging" on the wheel wells. I didn't have to do anything but bolt on my AFS ZR1's.

17 x 11 FM5's with the correct backspacing will work perfectly on a lowered car and tuck completly underneath the vehicle.

You will need to "roll" the inner fender lips to keep them from rubbing on outside edge of the tires though.

$75

With the stock springs, mine was barely hitting the edges of the lips on a good bump or when the car was loaded. Wanted to lower it so I did the rental thing. Worked great! Can't even tell.

Default Fikse FM5

I have FM5 17/11 in the back and it will look awsome. My car is also lowered 2 inches and it does not rub . All I did was mess with the inner fender well and put jounce spacers on. I did not roll the fender because I did not need to, that is up to you. Good choice on wheels and stick with the 315s, it looks a lot better that 275s.

Might seem mickey mouse to you but it rolled my fender lips just fine without cracking the paint. Let me know if you find a better way to do it without spending a fortune for a body shop. You won't have to if they don't hit but mine were with the 17x11 wheels and 315/35/17 tires.

by the way, what tires are you running? i liked those nitto 555r's, but i noticed they are only v-rated. my car came w/ z-rated tires...

I didn't do squat. Sportlines and 315s on FM10s and no probs.

Well, if you're haulin 3 girls in the car with you it might rub when you hit a hard bump.

The correct way to do it is to get an adj. panhard rod bar and re-align your axle after you lower your car. Otherwise the wheels may rub a little on the inside fenderwell. I did this with my FM5s and I haven't had a problem rubbing the inside at all, but I do rub the top of my fenders on big bumps.

They basically stop the rear end from bottoming out. You put them on top of the axel tube and they will raise the car so the shocks will not bottom out and then you will not have to roll the fender.

I was running Nittos but they are trash. So the wheels have been sitting in my garage waighting for Goodyear Eagle F1 D3R to come in. I ordered them about 2 months ago and I still do not have them. It really sucks having 16 inch wheels on the car when I have FM5s in the Garage.

This will explain exactly what a jounce spacer is and does. I have them and I have had 0 problems. I still have the stock PHR.

2000whiteTA,
hmmm, the ad in SLP says they are for 17" inch rims being installed on a car. well, um, i've already got 17's from the ws6 package. so does that mean the ones on the car are the same ones that SLP are selling, or are they larger(?)

no need to roller fender for those wheels and Prokits.
I have Prokits, and 17x11 in the back... I have +50mm offset, and I think Fikse uses +49mm offset.
Just need a adj.PHR to move the rear around for centering it.
a BFH will be needed to massage the inner fender.
Pics in signature of the 17x11s with Prokits,
note that I have no rubbing, even at the track with race-rubber in it.
