Default Micky T vs Hoosier DRs

Im about to order my 325/50s and thinkin about going with the Hoosiers! Iv heard the sidewall on them is a bit better for taking the shock. Running a 6 speed (I know I need a Bias Ply) but Im ganna try these, Im not looking for conistancy as much but needing a solid 1.7 or so 60ft.. This is not a race car just a weekend toy so Im thinking the Hoosiers may fit me just right? Anyone use them with a 6 speed??

FWIW the Hoosiers are just as sticky as the Mickeys and a lot lighter. Rain is absolutely positively not an option with them though.

Mines seen rain maybe twice since Iv owned it..Iv always ran M/Ts on all my other cars. Iv never used the Hoosiers, sticky isnt the issue. Its the side wall construction that Im worried about. Somewere I thought Id read that they were pretty good with 6 speeds for some reason?? With the 6 speed its hard to keep a radial from unloading, so everyone uses a Bias Ply. They use the Bias Ply to help take the shock from a 6000 RPM drop. I want to do it on a radial. Its not a race car..so Id be a lot more proud of I ran well on a raidal..

Well, a stiff sidewall slick is the best option for a 6 speed, but the hoosier drag radials are definitely closer to that than a MT radial is.

Another vote for Hoosiers. Hook just as good if not better than MTs, and are much lighter. They wear out faster and are less streetable though.

I like MTs for a 15" radial, and like Hoosiers in a 17" radial.

I JUST put a set of 325 Hoosiers on last week, figured I'd give them a try after a couple of sets of MT's. We ran the car last Friday and it had a 1.30x 60' (normally has a 1.31-1.32). No huge difference there, BUT they hook ALOT better on the street for sure and I couldnt believe how much lighter they were than the MTs. I am sure they wont wear as good and the car never sees rain so no problem there.I actually kinda like the look...

I vote hoosiers... I had a topic similar to this comparing m/t et streets vs. hoosier qtp drags and the hoosier drag radials. I went hoosier for the obvious... hook better, look better and are much lighter

I think Im ordering the Hoosiers then. A buddy has them on his Camaro but its an auto car like most..but he has some great 60fts and pulls the tires very nicely..
