Mickey Thompsom 295x55x15 ET Drag Radials?
Just looking for a little input..
I just put on a set of racestar wheels 15x3.75 upfront 15x10 in the rear and purchased a set of M/T Drag Radials on my 99 Trans Am..
I had run a best of 13.04 with a 60ft of 1.96 with Nitto Extreme Performance Drag radials with <315x35x17> 18 psi.
Im just wondering what psi i should run with these MT's...
Today in Orlando its going to be in the 90's so im hoping to hook up and cut my best 60ft and hoping to get in the 12's...
Thanks in advance for your thoughts

Well, might not see much as an overall improvement, mainly due to the weather. Its hotter than hell out. Orlando is not known for great track prep on TNT days.. Lakeland or Bradenton are much better. but in the winter your car will run quicker with some track prep. the mickeys are good for the track, but dont run them permanent on the street, they will wear fairly quick...
What is done to your car too? that also is factors on what your car is capable of, and how you drive. but odds are you should see a gain, with going to a sticker tire and lighter wheels, 17's tend to be heavy depending on finish/width so on.. keep us posted on your times!

You were all correct in one way or another....
I was trying to beat my best et so far of 13.04 @ 107.21 mph and that 60ft was a 1.95 and that was with Nitto Drag Radials 315x35x17
Last nite i ran 3 times my best 60ft was a 2.01 and i ran a 13.56 @ 102.49 2nd pass 13.65 @ 102.56 and 3rd pass of 13.56 @ 102.88 Boy was i Pissed off at my choice of tires...
I bought these mickey thompson's 2 weeks ago and only have 3 passes on them i think im going to list them for sale and go with a 275/50/15 mt drag radial instead...
Keep in mind that i only have a SLP Air Lid,Flowmaster Muffler and 3.73's and a 180 thermostat, and removed the mass airflow screen besides that im stock
My friends tell me to keep the tires and go with a zex nos kit? What are your feelings about that??
Thanks again for your time and kind assistance...

Yes my car is a automatic with stock converter...
I guess that should be my next purchase,a high stall converter...
Do you think my stock rear end will take a 3,600 rpm launch for long?
My car only has 64,000 miles on it and i got it from the original owner who Never raced the car so it has had a easy life till now ofcourse...
Thanks again for taking your time to give me some direction...

stall converter will definitely be the best bang for the buck but you'll have to worry about breaking your rear AND your transmission.....gotta pay to play though

Zex kits suck. 28" tires are WAY over kill for your car. Also there's no point in trying to beat personal best ETs in 90 degree weather, just wait for the fall, or a nice cool day. Back when my Camaro was stock, on a 90 degree day it would go 13.50s @ 105 and on a 55 degree fall day it would go 13.20s @ 108
