Default Door sticker said 10 spokes from slp... but this doesnt look good....(PICS)

I sold the 35th anniv wheels because the door sticker said it had 10 spokes from the factory as an option. So I shell out for 10 spokes but it doesnt look too good. Why does it look funny ?

was just kidding guys Sold my 35th anniv wheels last night. had to throw the winters on for the time being. Good news is my tires came in !! if only ground control didnt screw up..again... it woudnt have taken 1.5 months for coilovers to reach me (they forgot to ship the order but charged my cc the minute i placed the order.. sigh ) Heading to the tire shoppe to get them installed on my wheels in an hour after work. Here's my tires and pics of the wheels !!!

REALLY happy with the sizes I chose even though they are 19/20 i HAD to have the same 'look' front and back with regards to the sidewall.

I wont wash the car until I get it lowered and because it looks like total Anusol. And no I wont add red pinstripes to the wheels. Dont even get me started on trying to help 16" wheels look better LOL. theyre just for snow and garbage season.

Here's the sexy wheels again

Because those are standard V6 wheels, not SS 10 spoke wheels.

Jesus.

Those HREs are gorgeous. If Jesus Christ himself hand forged a wheel they would be what you currently have. Only probably made of like badassidium or some other very rare element.

Just got the tires put on and ffffffuuuuhhhh ya! they look so sick ! sidewalls are a perfect match front to back, and tire stretch is a perfect match front and back (rears are 10.5 front 9.5). I have a few pics with them beside the car but I hate to say it they wont be going on just yet. I will NEVER (!!!!) install wheels without lowering first.... so until my coilovers get here the car isn't even going to get a wash lol.

BUT when they do get here... all this is happening in 1 shot:

GC coil overs #650/200 slammed as far as possible with upper mount mod
MGW shifter
New Headlights polished up
Clear corners
Billet grille or slp grille
Detailed rotors and calipers (flat black most likely)
and of course the HREs

I am very fanatic about how my tires fit my wheels. I do all my research on tire specs, recommended widths and have a large folder I stock pictures of wheels and tires in tons of sizes including the same size in many different brands. It's so hard to know if it will stretch the same because every brand of wheel is different as well and it depends where the beads are. I go to a few tire shoppes and actually measure the actual tires and a few others to see where the bead sits naturally so I know how much the sidewalls will bulge or get tightened on the rim. Because I had a slightly staggered set of wheels I was scared if the rear tires would be stretched on the wheels if I did not pick a right profile and size. Believe it or not there ended up being only TWO tire brands out of the 30 or so I considered that had exactly a 1 inch difference in overall height for the sizes I selected (which I wanted because the rear rims are 1 " bigger), and had the reccomended widths exactly the same as my rim sizes. A few brands I checked off tire rack were off by a bit when I measured in person and I had to start all over again. It only helped that the Hankook ventus rated right there with the pilot sports in a few comparisons so it was a no brainer. I would have went 265/30/19 front and 275/30/20 rear but was too worried about going too thin and denting the rims on bad roads. This is my dd/winter car and I dont want to be repairing HREs thats for sure.

Personally, I prefer a stretched look so most of the tread is actually being used. Many people stretch a bigger tire on a wheel and theyre just dumb (my opinion again). There's more tread wasted, causes abnormal wear and gives very sloppy feedback and handling. It also looks downright ugly but thats subjective. A tighter tire fit will have sharper handling and response, have better wear characteristics and just makes the rim appear larger.

I had too many beers after my soccer game and probably typed too much.. tire stretch in a nutshell is just how the tire 'looks' to the eye when installed on a wheel.

Sorry guys. Just 2 days before she was spotless. I refuse to wash it until my lowering springs come in. I dont want to drive around in an SS that's clean with 16" stock Z wheels with winter rubber on them. It's embarassing enough as it is
