Default Wheels and tires for the track

So I went to the track last night for the first time and it made me sick. The best I could do with the T/A was a 14.00 (yea I know) I missed gears like crazy and had a 2.5 sixty foot time. I ordered a Tick MC a minute ago and now i'm gonna go for some tires. Right now I have a set of 18 inch Vette wheels, Ws6 wheels and a set off my 95 T/A. Which wheel would be the best to use and what would be a good tire to only use when I go to the track. Right now I've got Sumitomos.
Thanks

Use the stock 16's off the 95 and try some 26x10.5 ET Streets the bias ply not the radial

M/T Drag Radials is your best bet on the 17s, if you can't get a set of 15s

I wouldnt try to hook to hard with those 4.10s assuming there in a 10bolt. Either way i would go with a set of 26x10.5 Et Street bias plys on the 16" wheels.

I shifted at about 6300 and it seems like it locks me out of 4th and the rest of the gears are very tough to get in. I never miss in the Camaro but I can't shift the T/A for crap. I have some 15s off of some 3rd gen T/As would those be any better or even work. Oh and I'm about 100 miles away from the track would those tires be able to be driven on for that distance?

If it's tough to get into gear then it would be smart to stop racing it and find the problem

Looks like he found the problem, and has the part on the way to fix it... Adj MC ftw.

I was missing 3rd so I bought a mgw shifter, it was just a band aid fix to the real problem because I got locked out of 2nd with the clutch stuck the floor not long after. I've got a tick master in transit now
