Well ****. If the 10 spoke 35th Ann. Caps don't fit, I wonder if the chrome 10 spoke caps actually will. I will have to look tomorrow. Don't have the 10 spoke caps with me. If they don't fit I'll be ticked...

LOL, after lookin around suprisingly enough there is a scary similarity between the C5 style caps & the 05-06 Chevy EQUINOX that came with Machined finish wheels.

Damnit why cant someone on here have these wheels & work at a salvage with ton of caps to try for fitment, LOL

Just find some blank C5 caps and paint them to match. There are many places online that sell the vinyls decals.

co/signs....

Might think about filling in that corvette symbol with some body filler on one as well. Then you can add a custom emblem on it.

If my 10 spoke center caps fit then I'll just do it to those since they have a flat face and then get some center cap decals from Brent Franker.

I'll get the caps cleared tomorrow morning then I'll see how well they match. I'll take a wheel off and pop that cap in as well as the 10 spoke SS cap to see if they fit.

Sweet.

I still cant find a anwser to this: Are 2006-2009 Corvette center caps interchangeable with the C5 style wheels, they sure seem to be by lookin at them.

Here is why, this is the closest finish I could find to the OE wheels in all my searching, but they are from a 2006-2009 Z06 wheel.

Here is the back side if anyone can compare to a C5, they looked identical to me just lookin at pics.

Hmm, I might have to buy a set of the caps I'm lookin at to see if it works. If not I'll just resale the caps or chunk em', its not that big a hit if it fails & if it works its definetly worth the cost.

I just scuffed the center cap with 220 grit to make the machined lines. Then I put a coat of clear. After that I wet sanded the clear with 1000 grit and laid the final coat of clear on.

When I was doing the scuff marks with the 220 a couple edges wore off so they're black now since the silver coat was so thin. If you buy those caps and they work, let me know. Can you get them w/out the corvette flag?

Not 100% sure, with the flag is the only ones I found. But my plan was to have emblempros make a set of circular badges to fit inside that area where the flags are to cover them up. Maybe a black emblem with WS6 engraved or something.

Looks like the silver is way darkeR than the actual wheels. I think finding a bright silver, skipping the black base coat and laying just silver down it might be close. I'll post pictures when I get back home.

As far as the chrome 10 spoke center caps...they fit, but not flush with the face of the wheel. Again, I'll post the pictures when I get back home. But that's the update as of now.

They probably would fit just like the chrome 10 spoke SS center caps in the pictures.

Hmm, see thats what I thought too but another member said they didnt fit & he had tried a set already. Wonder why they wouldnt fit? Maybe he meant b/c it doesnt sit as flush, can you tell from the caps what is making the SS cap sit up higher?

I noticed that the clips were slightly different. I didn't measure to see if the 10 spoke caps were actually taller than the C5 ones or not. All I noticed was the clips, but there could be something else that's slightly different.

Yep that was me . I stated that the caps look the same but dont fit the same .
I REALLY want a set of caps without the damn Vette flag and with the machined
look . Those 06-09 C6 caps look pretty damn good ! I seen a couple members
on here that had actually made their own center caps out of Billet Aluminum
with their own logos . One guy had a Pontiac logo and I cant remember what the
other one was . These were both on C5 DD Machined wheels and the caps they
made looked awesome . Hopefully theres something we can do

I already contacted that guy, he only made a single set for his car & isnt lookin to make anymore. He also had some changes to them he wanted to make if he did ever make anymore. And those are on polished wheels, not machined. You can find stock caps to match the polished no problem, its the machined that proving to be a bitch to match.
