The Nitto NT555's are a good tire. They have pretty good grip under a full throttle acceleration run. My rear tires have lost grip only once in a high speed turn on a country road. I also had these tires on a lowered truck and was satisfied with them, but didn't have them for long due to getting different wheels. They are nicely priced at discounttiredirect.com with no sales tax or shipping.

I only have 245's on 18's on the rear, and these tires are sticky as hell at the track. I was blown away by these tires. Almost no spin and I was getting 1.9/2.0 60' all night.

They're 300 twr, so they'll last quite a while. I'd say that would make a nice DD tire. Good sweeping pattern for water, but should offer better traction than an average tire.

I ran them pretty hard this weekend. I kinda wish I would have gone with something a little more sticky. Mine has a good bit of torque down low and I have no problem busting them loose during part throttle. Seems like a good tire though, good enough for DD, and seems quieter than my previous Toyos...

I love mine. I run 275/40/17 all the way around.
I find them great in the rain, they're quiet and run smooth, and they hook up really well at the street and track.
I went from having to baby the launch for fear of completely smoking my all seasons, to being able to just mat it with the Nitto's, and just HOOK.
The price is really reasonable too.

Bought mine in 05' with the 18" offset C6 rims. Held up a hell of a lot better than the tires that were on it when I bought the car. Good traction for sub 500hp. Getting a little old but still have at least 65% tread left and I have given them some decent abuse. I give them a thumbs up.

You running a 9 or 9.5 wheel?
The nitto website has the exact measurements of these tires, and they are accurate.
My 315 on a 11" wheel has an absolute flat sidewall. The 275 on a 9.5 is the same way.

Great daily driver tire. Traction should be good as long as you aren't heavily modded and you should get plenty of miles out of them.
I went with the 555 Extremes on the front and 555R's on the rear to get a little more traction out of the street setup (and I LOVE the combo).
