Default Need Slicks for my stock 16's!

Hey guys im running on some stock five star wheels with the 8.5" width and i need some slicks to throw on them, i wanna keep the factory wheel for the fact that i like the "sleeper" look, so i dont want to upgrade wheels or anything. I need a slick that hooks REALLY well at the track, I would even consider radials if you have any ideas. I am looking at 450hp thru a 4k stall so i need something that wont blow the tires off. I am thinking a 10.5" or a 10" slick is all i will be able to fit in there... What about a radial? I will also need links to where to find these cuz its kind of a pain to find 16" tires... I found some on summit that are 28x10x16 Hoosiers (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HOO-18153/) has anyone run a slick this size before?

Thanks in advance guys!

I would go with a a 275 drag radial. Lots of people hook plenty good with them depending on power level and brand. Most people vouch for MT ET streets.

Then you might as well scratch the slick idea if you want them to last.

MT ET streets are probably the best hooking dr; but they probably wear the fastest. I think you can get 15k miles out of a nitto DR depending on how you drive.

MT/ET Streets are on my list farther to the top now... Toyo Proxy TQ's are as well.

heres the 26x11.5s bro http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MTT-3793/?rtype=10

the ones you listed will fit fine lots of people run those on stock wheels. only problem with them is that there 28" tall unless you want a 28" tire.

I believe that the widest radial that you should run on a stock 16x8 (not 8.5) wheel is 255. Get a 255/50/16 Hoosier drag radial; they hook like nobody's bizness.

Okay so i just looked at all my options for tires on my stockers... I decided to check out other options... While my car was at the shop a guy backed into my fender and headlight so he feels really bad and he wants to pay to get it fixed and painted. He then told me he had a pair of 15x9 draglites for $250. 11.5" tires should fit on those right? Then i shouldnt have any issues hooking up

These tires right here. I had a friend run the 28s and he hooked really good with them. He had h/c and a 150 shot.

I wouldn't try to put 11.5" wide tires on a 9" wide wheel.

It actually says that the minimum width is 8.80 and the maximum is 10.80, which really surprises me. I stand corrected.

295 Mt radials. they work but you need to run a low PSI like 14 -16 other wise they round out and you loose about 2 inches of contact with the ground.

I have had my car cutting 1.8 60s on the street and you can pull a 1.9 with ease
